110 years of great motorcycles
Harley-Davidson is celebrating its 100th birthday in 2013 with exclusive anniversary models
In 2013 it will be exactly 110 years since Messrs. Harley and Davidson painted their company name on a wooden shack in a Milwaukee and sold their first three motorcycles. Time to celebrate.
Time for an exclusive portfolio.
For 2013, the Motor Company is presenting six extraordinary and strictly limited anniversary bikes with particularly elegant equipment and paintwork: Sportster 1200 Custom (limited to 1,500 units worldwide), Dyna Super Glide Custom (limited to 1,450 units worldwide), Fat Boy Special (worldwide limited to 1,750 units), Heritage Softail Classic (limited to 1,900 units worldwide), Road King (limited to 1,750 units worldwide) and Electra Glide Ultra Limited (limited to 3,750 units worldwide) are available as part of this 110th Anniversary Edition.
All Anniversary models have an exquisite two-tone special paintwork that makes them recognizable at first glance. A special clear varnish finish gives the richly shiny color combination “Anniversary Vintage Bronze and Anniversary Vintage Black” its classic, timeless look with a fascinating depth effect.
Each machine has a metal badge identifying it as an Anniversary Model, which is placed in different places depending on the type.
It bears the consecutive production number of the respective special model.
The Anniversary tank emblem with the characteristic eagle wing is forged from solid bronze, then black nickel-plated and then artificially aged to make the bronze material stand out.
Because this aging process is never completely identical, each emblem becomes a completely unique piece of craftsmanship.
The icing on the cake is a raised gold-colored cloisonné in the shape of the Harley-Davidson logo.
Anyone who appreciates something very special will be fascinated by the three CVO special models, which are also available as part of the 110th Anniversary Edition: The CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide, the CVO Road King and the CVO Road Glide Custom are available in the “110th Anniversary Edition” exclusively in the two-tone “Diamond Dust and Obsidian” paint finish.
The first anniversary models from Harley-Davidson are expected to be available in authorized dealers at the “Open House” on October 6, 2012.
Further information about the vehicles can be found on the web at www.Harley-Davidson.com.
