The large exhibition “120 Years of Harley-Davidson” starts in Bad Homburg
FRANKFURT (March 15, 2023) - Spreading the history and stories behind aesthetic historical motor vehicles is the aim of the Central Garage Museum in Bad Homburg. Annually changing exhibitions with beauties in lacquer and chrome are presented here on an area of around 700 square meters. In 2023, Harley-Davidson will be our guest, the only company in the world that has manufactured motorcycles continuously and independently for twelve decades.
On April 23rd, “120 Years of Harley-Davidson” exhibition opens its doors and more than 60 machines as well as numerous other exhibits from the long history of the Motor Company make it the largest Harley-Davidson History Exhibition that has ever taken place in Europe.
Thanks to the extensive collection of historical vehicles from Matthias Meier and Thomas Trapp , the owners of the Frankfurt Harley Factory , as well as the commitment of other classic car fans, it has been possible to include everything from the 1910/11 Silent Gray Fellow with the original single-cylinder to the modern Pan America 1250 Special liquid-cooled V2 to gather all the notable Milwaukee Irons under the roof of the Central Garage.
In addition to the restored original precious items, numerous segments relevant to the brand's history, such as customizing and racing, were taken into account. In the latter exhibition area, a historical film is even shown in a specially set up cinema room. Of course, all major V-twin engine generations are represented, from the ioe model to the Revolution Max. Milestones on display include the WL, the early Electra Glide, the Heritage Softail Nostalgia, the Sturgis and the original versions of the Fat Boy and the V-Rod.
Also included are racing machines such as the 1916 Eight-Valve Racer and the is. And with bikes like the XBRR Racer, the Buell brand, which belonged to Harley-Davidson until 2009, is also taken into account.

The exhibition “120 Years of Harley-Davidson” can be seen until mid-December in the Central Garage, Niederstedter Weg 5 in 61348 Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. Admission is free, visitors are asked to make a donation. All proceeds go to the MainLichtblick association, which tries to make children who are very sick, physically impaired or traumatized happy so that they get new energy and fun in life.
