Ride a Harley with Ernesto Guevara on the Caribbean island of Cuba in 2021 and discover the island.

It's pure adventure - getting to know a beautiful country and its people while you still can.

2021 I'm due to start again, after having already been to the Harley drive on Cuba I was hooked and am due to set off again in spring 2021. The last tour went to Trinidad and back to Havana via Varadero.

Launch is at the end of February 2021

It was really nice, but it can't have been everything!

The tour from Havana to Santiago de Cuba

Ernesto has now worked out a tour especially for us that will take us all the way to Santiago de Cuba. The small group should consist of 7 to 9 bikers.

The main objective is Santiago de Cuba, the city is located in the south-east of Cuba in a bay on the Caribbean Sea. The second largest city in Cuba has been around for over 500 years.

I actually expect a similar flair there as in Havana, this city belongs to the New York my favorite cities. Of course they don't go together at all, but it's hard to explain, you simply have to experience them both.

10 days / 11 nights - approx. 2200 km

And the best way to experience such stories is of course on a Harley, the plan is to ride west to one of the best cigar plantations on the island of Cuba in Pinar del Rio.

I haven't actually smoked for 20 years, but Ernesto showed me how to smoke a really good cigar.

One of the best cigars is the Behike, the supply is now running out, so we're going to Pinar del Rio to organize supplies.

My first thought was, should we sleep here? From the outside, it looked totally run-down again and then you come in and don't want to leave.

We then head east to Las Terrazas in the Sierra del Rosario Nature Park. Cienfuegos simply has to be on the itinerary for those who have not yet been to Cuba.

UNESCO World Heritage Site Trinidad

Then comes a city that captivates you just as much, that is Trinidad, I'll never forget the first time I stood in front of our accommodation, my eyes got really big.

We really had a great time in Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and I can recommend the city to everyone, especially the food in our accommodation was amazing.

Then it's off to new routes, I haven't been to Santo Domingo either, on the edge of the Sierra Maestra, where the main camp of the Cuban guerrillas was located in the mountains back in the 1950s.

These things together with Ernesto Guevara and Camillo, who was also a son of one of the revolutionaries and a friend of CHE.

Then comes Sierra Maestra and Santiago de Cuba. We take the time to visit all the cities. At the end of the tour, we spend a few days on the beach in Santigo before flying back to Havana from Santiago.

There are more than twelve Harley-Davidson motorcycles in various classes to choose from. From Sporster, Dyna to the Street Glide, or E-Glide. Whoever comes first can choose one accordingly.

The tour price without flight to Havana is 6900,-* USD in single room / 6400.-* USD in double room / driver + co-driver in double room 6400.-* + 3400.- USD*.

The flight from Santiago to Havana is included, as is the return transportation of the Harleys to Havana. Accommodation and meals, as well as tour guide, service vehicle and replacement bike.

The flights are usually not available exactly at the start of the tour, last time we spent the interim period in private accommodation right on the Malecon, clean, good and cheap.

Riding a Harley together with Ernesto Guevara

I am with Ernesto Guevara I have been friends with him for many years, I met him in various countries, but was 2019 first time on his island and was able to experience directly what it was like for him as the son of CHE is.

The military salute him, they call him CHE and it is hard to imagine what his father means to the people of the island of Cuba. He is still known today as National hero celebrated.

It's really something special to ride a Harley with him in Cuba, in the evening at a Cuban cigar the good Havana Rum to enjoy with him.

Cuba is an adventure

Generally speaking about Cuba, the houses all look 90 % finished from the outside, there is rarely any real luxury except in the 5 star hotels, but it is still nice. Certainly, the food was very good and fresh everywhere, I've heard different things before, but I've only had positive experiences myself.

The people are totally friendly, we always had a safe feeling in Havana, for example, even if the people don't have much, they all make a happy impression, you have to experience it for yourself.

The roads were all ok until Trinidad, what comes after that, no idea, just let yourself be surprised!
