30 years of Harley-Davidson Stuttgart – and we celebrated!
In May, the big anniversary party took place in Korntal.
In 1985 - the year of Live Aid and the Commodore Amiga - passionate US bike fans Fred Pistor and Gerd Maier opened their Harley-Davidson Vertretung in Leonberg. Als ihr Laden zehn Jahre später aus allen Nähten platzte, zogen sie an den heutigen Standort in Korntal um, wo 2010 nochmal mächtig um- und angebaut wurde. Inzwischen bieten die beiden Stuttgarter und ihr 14-köpfiges Team auf einer Fläche von rund 2.200 Quadratmetern neue und gebrauchte Harleys, den dazugehörigen Service sowie Fashion und Zubehör. Die 30 Jahre scheinen für die Macher von Harley-Davidson Stuttgart wie im Flug vergangen zu sein – Zeit zu feiern! Natürlich standesgemäß mit einer großen Jubiläumsparty.
That's why May saw a weekend of excitement at Zuffenhauser Straße 93 in Korntal, accompanied by perfect weather. The large „Harley on Tour Truck“ was on site, with more than 40 current models from Milwaukee available for free test rides. Numerous visitors took advantage of this tempting offer.
On Saturday, stuntman Rainer Schwarz—announced by the roar of a running radial engine—provided thrilling excitement with breathtaking motorcycle acrobatics, and of course, everyone who wanted to give themselves or their Harley a new look for the 2015 season found what they were looking for: in addition to the specialists from Harley-Davidson Stuttgart, renowned exhaust suppliers and helmet manufacturers presented their products. Not only two-wheeled beauties from the USA, but also four-wheeled ones provided plenty of topics of conversation. So late into the night, people talked about gasoline and danced in the beer tent, enjoying food, drinks, and lively live music from two bands. On Sunday, test drives continued, and the Stuttgarters offered a delicious Weißwurst breakfast to keep everyone's strength up.
Of course, Fred Pistor, Gerd Maier, and their entire team were on hand on both days to answer questions about Harley-Davidson. Whether it was about new, used, or rental bikes, customization or financing, trade-ins, TÜV inspections, or the pick-up and delivery service—everyone was able to experience for themselves the advice and service that Harley-Davidson Stuttgart has always stood for.
„The greatest thing for us is when customers keep coming back—year after year,“ admits Fred Pistor, and he and Gerd Maier have undoubtedly succeeded in building this strong customer loyalty over the past three decades—congratulations, guys!
