7. Hohenlohe Harley Run in Künzelsau

The BigTwin engines were started for the 7th time in Künzelsau in the Biergarten am Kocher location. True to the motto “Harley rides for Gambia”, 538 Harley Davidson riders and motorcycle enthusiasts rode through the Hohenlohe region on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
But let's start from the beginning. The event started with a warmup party on Friday evening, the bands Grand Malheur and Steffen Hrubesch & base unit № 1 started here and created the right mood for the drivers and many hundreds of visitors, the weather was good this year the organizer's website. Many bikers took advantage of the opportunity and traveled to Künzelsau on Friday afternoon, from all sorts of regions such as Munich, Augsburg, Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, Freiburg, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg to name just a few.

The furthest group came from the beautiful Salzburger Land. Some of the participants stayed overnight at the campground, which is located right next to the event area at the Kocher outdoor pool, while others preferred overnight accommodation in hotels or guesthouses.

The special highlight of the event is the run, which starts every Saturday at 2 p.m.
The line-up for the run begins at 1 p.m., and numerous spectators come to admire the great American models before the start. The number of participants in the run increased again this year, with 538 bikers taking part. Every year the organizer chooses a great and winding route through the Hohenlohe region, this year the route led to the wonderful town of Vellberg. There was still silence in the city, but when the 538 bikes drove through the archway, the ground shook and the numerous visitors could no longer stop being amazed. The participants were welcomed by Vellberg's well-known night watchman, who was happy to explain the history of the town and the battlements. The rural women provided the participants with drinks and food so that they could fortify themselves for the second part of the route. After about an hour's stay we went back to the event area, the tour led along the Kochertal back to Künzelsau. Joe Spaeth was already waiting for the participants with his guitar and immediately created a great atmosphere, after which the band The Cockroach rocked until late into the night. The dealer area was also able to be enlarged compared to previous years.

The whole event is called Harley rides for Gambia.
Money is raised for The Gambia through donations from participants, sponsors, catering, etc. The donation amount will now be handed over to Rock for Gambia on Saturday, August 6th.
