It's Sunday, it's not just screwing! A customizer also needs to have fun!
Yes, that's right, he's tinkering around in his garage - some mechanics dream of a garage like that. On Sunday I was with Evan Favaro again in his workshop in the country in Wallkill.
He runs his Speakeasy Motors Shop there and can build there until the night without disturbing neighbors. Evan Favaro can often be seen in the new American Chopper show, he often works on Paul Teutul Sr.'s projects in the OCC workshop. r
He has now bought a new lift and is currently installing it himself. At times he restores high-quality vintage cars for some customers, such as the old Porsche 356s most recently, and he needs the lift for exactly these tasks. His new project is a Willy G. Jeep, of which only the skeleton is currently in the workshop.
The American Chopper sound producer lends a hand.
However, Mark (sound producer at Discovery) and I stopped him from working for now, a few Miller Lite cans were a sufficient argument. After some petrol talk we flew in to eat at his buddy's at Parkview House in Wallkill, the place is really highly recommended, great food and very good prices.
We launch rockets at the airfield
Now we move on to a special location belonging to Evan, a friend of his has a hangar that not only has a cool old airplane in it, but also a few more pieces of jewelry. Here he has stored his most recently built custom bike Daytona Bike Week this year .
Prototype – brake-suspension
The special thing about this machine is the newly developed brakes and spring unit, this is a prototype that he is working on, something very interesting indeed, he has already driven 1000 miles with the prototype.
Then another friend arrived with his Road King and somehow it became more and more fun. In between we launched rockets at the airfield and practiced the burnout on the runway with the Road King.
A customizer who understands and lives fun
All of this would be completely unthinkable for us, but it also shows that, unlike us, Americans still allow themselves some fun in life.
We enjoy the atmosphere with smokers and a beautiful sunset on the airfield, that's how you can imagine a Sunday from an American customizer , very relaxed and cool.
