ZUG (15.07.2025) - Motorcycle fans from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries flocked to Alpine Andermatt from 11 to 13 July. Around 2,000 visitors took part in the second Andermatt Freedom Ride. Whether on a cruiser, tourer, supermoto, road bike or as a non-rider - everyone was welcome, regardless of brand, riding style and experience level.
The tours over the surrounding Alpine passes such as the Furka, Gotthard and Oberalp formed the backbone and highlight of the weekend. Many participants took the opportunity to explore the routes either individually, self-guided with a digital guide or in accompanied groups with certified guides. Harley-Davidson guides. The program was supplemented by exclusive off-road experiences, which allowed for rides on nature trails that are not normally open to the public. The loan of Harley-Davidson Pan America models from the Adventure Touring family offered the ideal opportunity to fully experience this special part of the program.
The Andermatt Freedom Ride was deliberately not only open to experienced bikers. Families, day visitors, hikers and local residents who were looking for a summer experience in the region also got their money's worth. Those not in the saddle enjoyed live music on the event grounds, strolled between street food stalls and merchant tents or chatted about upcoming trips, favorite bikes and personal conversions with a sundowner drink in hand at the campfire and BBQ.
Other highlights included the music acts on Friday and Saturday evening, including performances by bands such as Token Rock, Just for Fun, DJ Destruction and DJ Dallomo at the Sunset and Andermatt parties, which provided an energetic atmosphere well into the night.
Numerous exhibitors and Swiss Harley-Davidson dealers showcased the latest from the world of motorcycle and touring equipment. In addition, the event offered test rides with the 2025 H-D models in the demo zone, a riding technique course, challenges, presentations on technology and safety as well as touring tips. In short: everything to do with riding. A total of around 150 riders took part in the tours.
The organizers were particularly pleased with the diversity of the audience. Experienced motorcycle enthusiasts, beginners and curious explorers experienced a weekend together where the focus was not on the type of vehicle, but on adventure, community and the joy of riding. The event was a coherent sign of how a shared passion for riding and togetherness can unite people - regardless of brand or origin.
