Winter time is mothball time | Harley Davidson

Winter time is mothball time | Harley Davidson

When it gets cold, most bikes go into hibernation. However, he wants to be well prepared...

The easiest way to get your motorcycle through the winter is to visit your authorized dealer. Many dealers offer a special winter service. This includes professional technology checks and often even a collection and delivery service. Some even offer proper storage and reactivation of the bike in the spring.

Anyone storing their Harley or Buell at home should follow some advice. First there is a thorough cleaning. Harley-Davidson has special products such as insect remover and Sunwash cleaning concentrate. The polished surfaces are then sealed with Harley Glaze polish or Harley Gloss. Metal or light metal surfaces, chrome and windshields require special care with special products from the Parts and Accessories range. It is ideal if the oil is changed before storage and the tire pressure is increased by 0.5 bar.

Peter Maffay and Harley-Davidson help children in need

Rock the road for charity

Peter Maffay and Harley-Davidson help children in need

“You can’t sing about a better world and leave reality unchanged.”
For rock legend Peter Maffay, sentences like these are not just nice words, they are the driving force behind his actions.
The busy “star you can touch” has been inspiring people with his music for decades and can probably be counted among the most socially committed German rock stars.
For more than ten years, he and his Peter Maffay Foundation have been creating shelters that serve as places of retreat for disadvantaged children and young people in need.
Nestled in beautiful landscapes, the specially equipped facilities offer a wide range of activities and care to help you gain new strength and confidence.

It was certainly only a matter of time before the passionate Harley rider Maffay rediscovered his Romanian homeland as the ideal place for a project.
With the help of his foundation, he bought parts of the local fortified church in Radeln, around 100 kilometers from his hometown of Brasov, and, with many helping hands, transformed it back into a place of security.

V-Twins, fun and great freedom

The Hamburg Harley Days attracted 600,000 fans

From June 24th to 26th, Hamburg was in a state of emergency: black and orange dominated the streets, the gentle thunder of around 65,000 V-twins filled the air, the Hanseatic city mutated into Harley City. Even though the summer that had just begun had one or two refreshing breaks, 600,000 fans, bikers and guests visited the 40,000 m² event area at the wholesale market with free admission over three festival days.

Seeing and being seen was the name of the game on Main Street. One of the most famous faces was actor Axel Prahl – aka Chief Inspector Thiel in the Münster “Tatort” – who traveled from Berlin on his Harley. He also enjoyed strolling and shopping at the over 150 vendors who presented everything that fascinates people with gasoline in their blood, from biker scarves to complete motorcycle conversions. Right next door, the current Harley-Davidson model range could not only be admired, but even tested extensively - an offer that was as tempting as it was free, which around 400 guests took advantage of. People fortified themselves with food and drinks at numerous stands, because the program was as extensive as it was hot: five daredevil shows by stuntman Rainer Schwarz made the asphalt glow, and no fewer than eleven bands rocked the stage.

With hits like “Davy's on the road again” and “For you,” headliner Chris Thompson, ex-voice of Manfred Mann's Earth Band, scored big on Friday evening. The following day, around 90 bikers presented the most beautiful of the beautiful custom bikes that had come to Hamburg from all over Europe at the Ride-In Bike Show on Mönckebergstrasse. They were chosen by a strict jury under the eyes of hundreds of onlookers.

Peter Maffay | The good impulse in the Harley scene

Peter Maffay | His heart for children beats as powerfully as the powerful V-twin engine of a Harley-Davidson.

He is one of us, he fights tirelessly for the Peter Maffay Foundation without any fear of contact, his fans thank him and whenever he calls, they are there! Wednesday before his concert on Saturday in Bad Segeberg am Kalkberg it was that time again in Hamburg at Harley-Davidson Nord, in favor of the “Peter Maffay Foundation” Peter Maffay called in cooperation with the “Entrepreneurs Hamburg”, Möhls Jevenstedt, 4elements and the Harley-Davidson Davidson represented Hamburg North for the charity run.

The tour with over 100 Harley-Davidson machines went from Hamburg Nedderfeld with a stopover via Klein Gladebrügge to Kalkberg to Bad Segeberg.

The stopover at an estate was used for gas talks and photo-taking; Peter Maffay gave the bikers lots of autographs in a relaxed atmosphere. You could see that he had fun too. Peter Maffay group photo.jpg

In between, an interview for a television team that was there and after a nice group photo we continued on to Bad Segeberg. The tour, which didn't take the direct route to Bad Segeberg, was very nice and in some small villages people were probably very surprised at what kind of group of Harleys were cruising through the landscape.

The trip was perfectly organized and accompanied by the two HOG Chapter Checkpoint Chapter Hamburg and the Hanseatic Chapter Hamburg. Of course, members from the Metropolitan Chapter also took part in the charity tour.

Ladies on the handlebars

On October 15th The ladies celebrated at Harley-Davidson Stuttgart

More and more women want to take the motorcycle controls into their own hands. The German Motorcycle Industry Association estimates that a million motorized two-wheelers are now driven by women in this country. And the success of the first “Ladies Night” in Stuttgart confirms that the objects of female desire are not just small models.

Around 60 motorcycle-loving guests accepted the invitation from Harley-Davidson Stuttgart on October 15th. {mosgoogle}

In addition to the women who already own a Harley, there were numerous like-minded people who had previously only enjoyed motorcycling from the pillion perspective, as well as a number of interested people who had never been on a bike before. After a festive reception, Christa Maier and her team from the Stuttgart dealer offered the guests not only lots of music but also a good portion of action.

These included, among other things, the fashion shows with the latest motorcycle and leisure looks from Harley-Davidson.

Anyone who thought they weren't big or strong enough for a Harley was proven wrong, because a seat test caused surprised faces: the supposed heavy metal can be easily lifted up from the side stand.
