Bergen – Rügen: Traffic accident with two seriously injured persons on the L30 between Zudar and Losentitz (district of Vorpommern-Rügen)
On 10.06.2022, at around 16:45, an accident occurred on the L30 between Zudar and Losentitz. Traffic accident between a passenger car and a motorcycle. The 82-year-old German driver of an Opel car was driving on the L30 coming from Zudar and wanted to turn left towards Maltzien.
For reasons as yet unexplained, she overlooked the oncoming 62-year-old German driver of a Harley-Davidson, This resulted in a collision between the two vehicles. Both drivers sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries in the accident.
The driver of the Opel was taken by ambulance to the Sana hospital in Bergen. The accident victim Motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter Greifswald transported. During the accident investigation and recovery of the vehicles, the L30 had to be fully closed for around two hours and then half-closed for around two hours.
To clarify the exact cause of the accident, the public prosecutor's office instructed an employee of the DEKRA were called in. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy and had to be recovered by a towing company.
The total damage to property is estimated at around 35,000 euros. In addition to the forces from police and rescue services, 10 members of the Zudar and Maltzien volunteer fire departments were deployed.
