Berlin and Villach apply as production sites for Harley-Davidson

The media hype surrounding the punitive tariffs continues unabated, and now the matter is entering a second round. Mail has arrived at Harley-Davidson headquarters in Wisconsin from Berlin and Villach. Both towns have come up with the idea of offering themselves as Harley-Davidson production locations for Europe.

After the Harley-Davidson management in the USA indicated that it would relocate its production abroad, a Berlin business agency has taken action. According to the Tagesspiegel, the state-owned business development agency Berlin Partner has sent a letter to Harley-Davidson boss Matthew Levatich.

Berlin recommends itself as a business location in the center of Europe, with a favorable location. They didn't want to have Harley Days in Berlin, although Berlin would have been a good location for it.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON MADE IN GERMANY, OR RATHER AUSTRIA?

In this respect, however, things are different at Lake Faak in Austria. The largest Harley-Davidson meeting in Europe takes place there every year. And now the municipality of Villach is also applying to become a production site in Wisconsin.

According to a report on 5min.at, Villach is positioning itself as a potential location. The connection through the European Bike Week has existed for many years and Harley-Davidson would be in good company with Infineon and 3M.

However, the American President Trump swivels and steers back and forth, it can also suddenly turn out completely differently and Matthew Levatich sits in the Oval Office of the White House again at Trump's invitation and negotiates with the US President.

That would certainly be the easiest way, it would really be a surprise if there were to be a Harley-Davidson made in Germany or Austria in the near future.
