Beyond Sturgis
The best European Harley events 2014
• Event tips from May to November 2014
• Events in impressive nature and fascinating cities
• Travel with maximum fun factor
When it's still uncomfortably cold outside and gets dark extra early and the V-Twins are in deep hibernation, then it's the perfect time to plan the next season.
And it's a tough one again, because Harley-Davidson wouldn't be Harley-Davidson if there weren't any official motorcycle rallies, parties and biker celebrations in the style of the house in 2014. There's a lot on offer: In addition to the cool locations at every corner of our continent, you can expect good live music, food and drink as well as productive shopping miles around the theme of "motorcycles".
Also indispensable are the countless machines, none of which are alike, the big parades and the demo bikes that are just waiting to be tested for free and without obligation. But the most important thing are the bikers and fans who flock from near and far to celebrate the spirit that pushes boundaries and connects people regardless of age, origin and lifestyle.
This verve can be experienced for the first time in 2014 on May 8th, when the four-day Euro Festival gets underway in Saint-Tropez (hogeuropegallery.com). Visitors to the European HOG Rally (hogeuropegallery.com), which takes place from June 12th to 15th in Biograd, will also combine traveling and partying.
If you want to do good and have fun at the same time, visit
the Friendship Ride Germany ( friendship-ride-germany.de ) in the Rhön from August 8th to 10th or take part in the charity tour from August 13th to 17th Austria (harley-charity-tour.at). Both events are dedicated to the fight against muscular dystrophy and promise top entertainment, as you rightly expect from Harley-Davidson.
Of course, there will be celebrations again in Hamburg (July 4th - 6th, hamburgharleydays.de ), Barcelona (July 4th - 6th, barcelonaharleydays.com) and Vienna (July 18th - 20th, viennaharleydays.at). The popular “Harley Days” immerse the three metropolises in black and orange for three days and nights - party time at the event locations and the relevant urban promenades and entertainment miles is guaranteed! Cologne is new to the world of city events. You should save May 24th for the mega party with a view of the cathedral and old town ( harleydomecologne.de
Participants of the Magic Bike Rüdesheim (June 19th – 22nd, magic-bike-ruedesheim.com ), the Edersee Meeting (June 26th – 29th, edersee-meeting.de ) and the Bike and Music Weekends (July 31st – August 3rd, bike-and-music-weekend.de ). Whether you decide to visit the world cultural heritage site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley with its pearl Rüdesheim, the surrounding area of the huge reservoir in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park or the natural diversity of Lower Franconia around Geiselwind - each of these events scores with its own character and guarantees a weekend full of joie de vivre . European Bike Week ( europeanbikeweek.com , offers a whole week of this . If you miss Europe's biggest motorcycle event, it's simply your own fault!
For anyone who would like to explore the south of Europe on their bike, but wants to avoid any stress on arrival and departure, Harley-Davidson recommends the SKS events El Toro Run in Granada, Algarve Run in Ria Formosa and Mallorca Bike Week on the sunny Balearic island ( sks-reisen.de ). The motorcycle is delivered by truck, the guest arrives comfortably on the plane and enjoys an extra-comfortable all-round feel-good package on site.
It doesn't always have to be Sturgis - good old Europe has a lot to offer. Just go there and enjoy! More information can be found at Harley-Davidson.de and hogeuropegallery.com.
