On October 8th, the biker was calmly filling up at the gas station. Witnesses said that he had turned the music on the excavator very loud and was looking at the meter in a completely relaxed manner. That was probably the reason why he didn't hear the shouts from other customers, his tank was overflowing. Everything else happened very quickly, the gasoline ran all over the bike and also over the biker's clothing. In a matter of seconds everything was on fire, only with the help and intervention of the gas station owner and a customer, who quickly threw a jacket over the biker, could anything worse be prevented, the Harley-Davidson excavator is history and the 53-year-old biker is with it was flown to hospital with very serious injuries. According to the hospital, his airways and face are not affected, but he has very severe burns all over his body, but his life is not in danger.
Now the investigations are starting, in the USA there is often no automatic switch-off at the tap, this is not uniformly regulated, now the investigators are trying to find out whether the engine was running or what the cause of the fire was.
