The official cancellation of Bike Week Willingen
Dear Bike Week friends, Due to the current restrictions imposed by the municipality of Willingen and the poor booking situation for exhibitors, it is not possible to hold Bike Week Willingen in the quality we envision. A smaller event, possibly reduced in quality or size, is out of the question for us. After careful consideration and weighing up all the options, we hereby officially cancel Bike Week Willingen 2024. Statement on the cancellation of Bike Week Willingen 2024
The municipality of Willingen (Upland) has endorsed, promoted, and supported Bike Week from the very beginning. Bikers have always been and continue to be welcome guests. This should remain the case in the future; the organizer was simply reminded that the existing agreements on noise protection for the population must be observed. The details of this are still to be worked out jointly. be discussed. The municipality even proposed solutions. The necessary discussions were still pending. In this respect, the cancellation of the event comes as a surprise to the municipality and, at least at this point in time, cannot be attributed to stricter requirements on the part of the municipality.

Harleysite information:
As you can see, there are now various accusations flying around as to what led to the cancellation of Bike Week Willingen. According to information I have received from exhibitors, the main reason is more likely to be found in the fact that the organizer lost many dissatisfied exhibitors. This has nothing to do with visitors' willingness to buy, but rather with the handling and transparency of costs, for example, for waste disposal.
Perhaps there were too many kings at the event. The ones who suffer are and will continue to be the visitors who have submitted their vacation requests, booked their hotels, and, if there is no free cancellation option, will be particularly annoyed. Of course, they can still travel to the Sauerland region, but it is still annoying.
