MILWAUKEE (January 27, 2016) – With the introduction of the CVO™ Pro Street Breakout® Harley-Davidson® Custom Vehicle Operations™ (CVO) is opening a new chapter in factory custom style in 2016. This new limited-edition model combines high performance with a long, muscular look reminiscent of powerful drag racers. The CVO Pro Street Breakout magically attracts the attention of true motorcycle fans.

Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycles are created in special departments at the Harley-Davidson factories. They are equipped with particularly powerful engines and refined with a variety of original Harley-Davidson accessories and exclusive paint finishes. Year after year, these machines raise the bar in factory customizing. The bikes from Custom Vehicle Operations have often been pioneers for new components and technologies in the custom sector, and the dark styling of the new CVO Pro Street Breakout also provides the Harley-Davidson design team with the blueprint for various new manufacturing processes.

„With the Pro Street Breakout, Custom Vehicle Operations is breaking new ground,“ explains Harley-Davidson Styling Director Brad Richards. „With this motorcycle, we are offering our customers a look that was born out on the highway and brought together in a fascinating synthesis with the creative ideas of our designers. Of course, the machine has all the qualities that CVO customers rightly expect in terms of detail, value, and prestige, but it showcases them in a completely new way. Its paintwork may appear minimalist at first glance, but on closer inspection it has incredible depth. We have been working for some time on alternatives to high-gloss chrome plating, such as brushed, anodized, or tinted clear coat finishes. The CVO Pro Street Breakout already features this new style.“ 

A current example of this is the finish called Smoke Satin Chrome. „To achieve the shading and depth effect of Smoke Satin Chrome, we worked intensively with our paint and coating technology suppliers. This makes us the first to use this process in the motorcycle sector,“ explains Harley-Davidson Senior Stylist Dais Nagao. „It's a finish that looks contemporary and exclusive, but also a little dark or even sinister. Where we combine Smoke Satin Chrome with black surfaces, it creates an interesting multi-layered effect. This can be seen in the valve and cylinder head covers: the upper rocker cover is finished in glossy black, while the lower rocker cover is finished in Smoke Satin Chrome. The same applies to the heat shield on the exhaust, which matches the black engine and the black rear mufflers. Smoke Satin Chrome for the oil lines and connecting parts are further details that fascinate the viewer.“

Scorched Chrome with a burnished effect is the second new finish to make its debut on the CVO Pro Street Breakout. It adorns the Aggressor Custom wheels. In addition, the modified derby and timing covers feature a new „mechanical“ look. Metal parts are painted in Starfire Black or two-tone White Gold Pearl and Starfire Black and feature hand-applied pinstripes that run across the tank and rear fender, emphasizing the performance potential of the CVO Pro Street Breakout.

The machine draws its power from a powerful Screamin‘ Eagle® Air Cooled Twin Cam 110B™, considered the most powerful air-cooled Harley-Davidson production engine. To get the most out of the big V-Twin, CVO engineers have equipped it with black blunt-cut mufflers, an open Screamin„ Eagle Heavy Breather Elite airbox, and a powerful hydraulically operated assist and slip clutch. To ensure that the rider always has the impressive Screamin“ Eagle power safely under control, the CVO Pro Street Breakout is equipped with a new 43-millimeter upside-down telescopic fork, which is secured by an extremely robust triple clamp. Reliable deceleration is provided by dual front disc brakes with floating discs and an optimized brake lever, as well as standard ABS. The stable chassis with a 19-inch front wheel promotes handling and agility, while the fat rear tire in 240 wide-band format confidently transfers power to the asphalt.

Numerous drag racing references underscore the Pro Street Breakout's inimitable look. These include the flat 1.25-inch drag-style handlebars, the wind deflector on the handlebars, and the color-coordinated front spoiler. The low bucket seat and backrest provide support for the rider during acceleration. Other styling features include the trimmed front fender, dark Airflow Collection accessories on the hand and foot levers, black Profile Custom mirrors, flat tank console, and steel-covered lines. An electronically controlled cruise control system and the Harley-Davidson Smart Security System with immobilizer and alarm system are also standard features.
