CVO PRO STREET BREAKOUT, THE NEW DEFINITION OF THE AMERICAN MUSCLE BIKE
A chopper with strong performance, impressive features and an exclusive finish
MILWAUKEE (January 27, 2016) – Harley-Davidson® Custom Vehicle Operations™ (CVO) opens a new chapter in factory custom style in 2016 CVO™ Pro Street Breakout® This new model, produced in limited numbers, combines high performance potential with an elongated, muscular look that is reminiscent of powerful drag racers. The CVO Pro Street Breakout magically attracts the attention of real motorcycle fans.
Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycles are created in special departments at the Harley-Davidson factories. They are equipped with particularly powerful engines and refined with a variety of original Harley-Davidson accessories and exclusive paintwork. Year after year, these machines raise the bar in factory customization. The bikes from Custom Vehicle Operations have often acted as pioneers for new components and technologies in the custom sector, and the dark styling of the new CVO Pro Street Breakout provides the Harley-Davidson design team with the blueprint for various new machining processes.
“With the Pro Street Breakout, custom vehicle operations are breaking new ground,” explains Harley-Davidson Styling Director Brad Richards. “With this motorcycle we offer our customers a look that was born out on the highway and brought into a fascinating synthesis with creative ideas from our designers. Of course, the machine has the qualities that CVO customers rightly expect in terms of depth of detail, value and prestige, but it showcases these in a completely new way. Their paintwork may seem minimalist at first glance, but upon closer inspection it has incredible depth. We have been working on alternatives to high-gloss chrome plating for some time, for example in the form of brushed, anodized or tinted clear varnish surfaces. The CVO Pro Street Breakout is already presented in this new style.”
A current example of this is the finish called Smoke Satin Chrome. “To achieve the shading and depth effect of Smoke Satin Chrome, we worked extensively with our paint and coating technology suppliers. “We are the first to use the process in the motorcycle sector,” explains Harley-Davidson Senior Stylist Dais Nagao. “It is a finish that appears contemporary and exclusive on the one hand, but also a bit dark or even evil on the other. Where we combine Smoke Satin Chrome with black surfaces, an interesting multi-layer effect is created. As in the area of the valve and cylinder head covers: The upper rocker cover is in glossy black, the lower rocker cover in Smoke Satin Chrome. The same applies to the heat shield on the exhaust, which corresponds to the black engine and the rear silencers, which are also black. Smoke Satin Chrome for the oil lines and connecting parts are further details that fascinate the viewer.”
Scorched Chrome with a burn-in effect is the second new finish debuting on the CVO Pro Street Breakout. It adorns the Aggressor Custom wheels. In addition, the modified Derby and Timing covers have a new, “mechanical” look. Metal hardware is painted Starfire Black or two-tone White Gold Pearl and Starfire Black and features hand-applied pinstripes running across the tank and rear fender, highlighting the CVO Pro Street Breakout's performance potential.

The machine draws its power from a powerful Screamin' Eagle® Air Cooled Twin Cam 110B ™, which is considered the most powerful air-cooled Harley-Davidson series engine. To get the most out of the big V-twin, the CVO technicians gave it black “Blunt Cut” rear silencers, an open Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather Elite airbox and a powerful hydraulically operated Assist and Slip clutch. So that the driver always has the impressive Screamin' Eagle power safely under control, the CVO Pro Street Breakout is equipped with a new, 43 millimeter thick upside-down telescopic fork, which is fixed by an extremely robust fork clamp. A double disc brake at the front with floating discs and an optimized brake lever as well as the standard ABS ensure reliable deceleration. The stable chassis with 19-inch front wheel promotes handling and agility, while the fat rear tire in 240 wide band format brings the power confidently to the asphalt.
