“I love motorcycles that you visit in the garage in the evening with a cold beer – simply because you want to see them again before you go to bed,” says Willie G. Davidson, design legend and grandson of one of the Harley company founders. The light in the garage stays on for a particularly long time at night when the bike completely matches the personality of its owner. Anyone who values straightforwardness and purism in life needs a machine that is as honest and unpretentious as they are.
For these individual bikers, Harley-Davidson offers the Dark Custom models. In addition to the new Street 750, these are the Sportster types Iron 883 and Forty-Eight as well as the Dyna models Street Bob and Fat Bob - charismatic machines reduced to the essentials, in which everything that is not needed for driving has been left out, machines with easy handling and dark look that simply looks good even without chrome polish.
Anyone who wants to get to know Harley's dark side of power can now look forward to irresistible dating offers from the Motor Company: numerous authorized dealers all over the country are organizing dark custom events in 2015. Chilling music, snacks and drinks are on offer, but the focus is of course on the five originals from Milwaukee, USA.
Of course you can sit on it and accelerate - for the photo album or in the form of a test ride. With the latter, you quickly discover that each of the five machines has its own character: here lively and agile, deep or compact, there like a steam hammer, massive or very long. All you need to test drive is a valid driver's license. The dealer rents out the right clothing - and of course also sells it: cool helmets, jackets, shirts, hoodies and accessories that simply fit perfectly with the dark custom style of the bikes.
Visitors to the Dark Custom Events also get to know the world of motorcycle customization: the workshop doors are wide open and the professional mechanics give tips for the final visual and ergonomic finishing touches.
