Racing and action at Daytona Bike Week
While life is happening on Main Street, there is a lot going on on Daytona International Speedway the concentrated portion of motorsport. The site is located just a few minutes from the city center and is an integral part of Bike Week.
Several major events are held here every year - including the legendary DAYTONA 200 and the Daytona Supercross. Both events have their own character, but are a must for anyone who loves the sound of high-revving engines.
Overview Daytona Bike Week
The Daytona Bike Week is one of the most famous motorcycle events in the world.
The DAYTONA 200
The Daytona 200 is the most traditional motorcycle race in the USA. It has been a fixture on the calendar since 1937 and attracts riders from all over the world. Originally held on the beach, today the field starts on the modern speedway circuit.
The combination of oval and infield makes the race technically demanding. Tight bends, high speeds and tactical driving make the difference between winning and crashing. Spectators have a perfect view of the action from almost every seat in the grandstand.
Daytona Supercross
A highlight for all off-road fans is the Daytona Supercross - an AMA Supercross race that is set up especially for Bike Week. The course is located directly in the infield of the speedway, and anyone standing there for the first time will immediately understand why this discipline is so popular.
Jumps, tight turns, full power on sandy ground - all within sight of the spectators. It's not about show, but about precision and control. The atmosphere in the stadium is loud, tight and real.
Further events at the Speedway
In addition to the big races, test days, manufacturer presentations and demo rides take place on the grounds. Harley-Davidson, Indian and other brands regularly use Bike Week to showcase new models or offer test rides.
If you want to leave the hustle and bustle of Main Street behind you, you'll find the complete contrast here: plenty of space, professional organization and pure action.
