DREAM-MACHINES celebrates the 120th anniversary of Harley-Davidson with an extra-fat anniversary edition
The current DREAM-MACHINES issue 03-23 is a whopping 32 pages thicker than a normal edition. It owes this to the 120th anniversary of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The story of the rolling legend can be retold again and again and the editors have uncovered new facts that hardly anyone knew about before. These findings have been woven into an extra-long section of the Harley-Davidson history. Beautifully designed, richly illustrated and absolutely worth reading!
But this issue is also rich in other interesting stories. For example, about idle speed adjustment in the age of fuel injection. Once upon a time, there was hardly a biker meeting without an idling contest. The aim was to reduce the idle speed of a Harley to such an extent that it rumbled and shook, thus expressing the typical character of a Big Twin. This was possible when the idle speed was still turned down using a carburetor screw. Today there are only injection systems. There is an informative technical article on whether this also works and what consequences it has for the engine.

No test is more realistic than a test under realistic conditions. The editorial team drove a Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST over the highway from Mannheim to Berlin and into the hellish city traffic there. Two times 600 kilometers later, you know pretty much everything about the utility value of a motorcycle that initially just looked cool.
Ann-Kathrin Bendixen is known as „Monkey on bike“ is a well-known motorcycle influencer. Tens of thousands follow her experiences on her motorcycle trips via Instagram. She has been riding a Harley for some time now. DREAM-MACHINES asked her to tell us about her experiences.
Who actually spruces up the Harleys before they go on sale? These men are called „refurbishers“, and they have more up their sleeves than we could have imagined. DREAM-MACHINES introduces the Harley-Davidson Berlin refurbisher, who has built up a number of his own motorcycles along the way. Many of them look like Harleys that Harley itself never built.
DREAM-MACHINES 03-32 also presents the new Indian Sport Chief, shows fine V2 conversions with Shovelhead, Evolution and Milwaukee Eight engines, rides the board track and tests smartphone mounts.
The issue is available in well-stocked newsagents or free of charge at kiosk.dream-machines.de
