Three for the road
Harley-Davidson presents the facelifted Dyna Street Bob as well as the new Sportster 1200 Custom A and B models
What would life be without a spark of individuality? Even! That's why Harley-Davidson has just in time for its 110th anniversary.
To mark the company's anniversary, the characterful Dyna Street Bob was made even more striking and two special editions of the popular Sportster 1200 Custom were launched.
The most purist Dyna, the Street Bob, is more minimalist than ever in 2013.
To match the black Twin Cam 96, whose upper cooling fins have been polished, the designers have now dipped their dip tubes and fork bridges in black. A new, vibration-isolated riser supports the Mini Ape handlebar with internal cable routing. Not only the new black tank console, the seat cover and the black battery cover are particularly straightforward and clean, but also the rear: instead of a conventional rear light, the machine now has indicators with integrated brake and tail lights.
The range of paint colors for the Dyna Street Bob includes, among other things, the popular matt black denim tone and will be supplemented for 2013 by the new Hard Candy Custom Metalflake variant “Big Red Flake” in the Seventies look with extra-large metallic particles.
A newly designed Harley-Davidson tank emblem in a classic cast design completes the straightforward impression.
Incidentally, three of their family members - the Dyna types Switchback, Wide Glide and Fat Bob - will be powered by the particularly high-torque Twin Cam 103 in 2013. The Sportster 1200 Custom is an extremely handy street machine with a uniquely powerful look. For 2013, Harley-Davidson is also offering it in two Factory Custom Limited Editions: As the “XL 1200CA” in the red and black Nascar look with custom graphics, black five-spoke cast wheels, drag-style handlebars and a matt black engine. And as the “XL 1200CB” in matt black custom paint with black wire-spoke wheels, mini ape and forward footrests.
Like all Harley-Davidson models, the new Sportster models have practical features such as the Smart Security System, which automatically activates and deactivates the immobilizer and alarm system.
Harley-Davidson offers a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, one-year membership in the Harley Owners Group and a one-year mobility warranty.
On October 6, 2012, the “Open House” day at Harley-Davidson, the first new models will be available at authorized dealers.
