13th International Edersee Meeting announced

At one of Germany's largest reservoirs, it's not always just breathtaking views that take your breath away—sometimes it's thousands of motorcycles that leave you speechless.

We are, of course, talking about the International Edersee Meeting, which, now in its thirteenth year, attracted more than 15,000 visitors and has become one of the top motorcycle parties of the season. Despite the less than ideal weather, the event went off without a hitch thanks to perfect planning and a lively atmosphere, proving once again that thirteen is not unlucky. As always, the spacious event site below the Eder Bridge in Hemfurth, North Hesse, provided the perfect setting.

The musical kick-off for the four-day event on Thursday evening was provided by the bands Vodoo and Betty Ford, who really got the party started with their rock 'n' roll. The following days were anything but boring: whether it was beer crate climbing or biker games, bike washing or burnouts by stunt legend Rainer Schwarz, the team around Kassel-based Harley-Davidson dealer Arno Werkmeister made the event something special once again, not only with a fantastic supporting program, but also with its family-friendly prices.

For many bikers, one of the highlights on Saturday afternoon was once again the motorcycle parade, which was cheered on by residents and visitors alike. This year, for the first time, the parade made its way around Lake Edersee without any stops, providing a visually and acoustically impressive spectacle. Another feast for the eyes were the candidates of the Custom Bike Show.

Edda Hupfeld won the overall prize for the best conversion with her excellent Evo under the watchful eyes of the jury. Gilbert from southern France ultimately secured the trophy for the longest journey, having traveled 1,260 kilometers. True fighters also thrilled visitors on Saturday night. At least, that's how it appeared to all the boxing fans who were able to watch Klitschko's victory over Haye live on the big screen.

Arno Werkmeister's conclusion about this year's mega party in Hesse is once again extremely positive. „The atmosphere was just brilliant! We're already looking forward to the next meeting!“ The 14th International Edersee Meeting will take place from June 28 to July 1, 2012, in Hemfurth, Hesse.
