The beat goes on
This year the International Edersee Meeting will take place from June 28th to July 1st 2012
For more than a decade, the Edersee meeting in Hemfurth, Hesse, has been known far beyond the state's borders as a synonym for maximum event fun at fair prices. But it wouldn't be the Edersee meeting if organizer and Harley dealer Arno Werkmeister from Harley-Davidson Kassel and his team hadn't stepped it up again for the fourteenth edition.
New for this year is the significantly expanded music offering.
The idea: Why not take advantage of the good reputation for the best atmosphere and good sound and become the hottest music festival for the region with additional top bands? The usual excellent cover bands therefore receive strong sound reinforcement from top acts such as “Betontod”, “Ohrenfeindt” and “Ski's Country Trash”.
In addition to the 13 live bands, there is a lot more on offer: stunt legend Rainer Schwarz guarantees breathtaking motorcycle action, the latest Harley-Davidson models ensure plenty of driving fun and the dealer and customizer mile offer pure selection.
Things should also be interesting again at the “Extra Tip” newspaper’s dynamometer competition, where everyone can put their bikes to the test.
In addition to the numerous motorcycle tours led by the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley Owners Group over the most beautiful roads in the region, the joint parade over the dam on Saturday is always a real highlight.
You also shouldn't miss the big 11 a.m. biker service on Sunday, in which Pastor Hans-Jürgen Neuschäfer will give God's blessing for the season while listening to the finest blues rock.
As usual, you can spend the night festival-like within the spacious event area - the campground, including a shuttle service to the event area, offers space for several thousand tents.
You are guaranteed not to sleep in the extra large festival and dance tents.
No matter whether it's a table football tournament, table dancing or a slow driving contest, the multi-day indoor and outdoor supporting program has everything to offer except boredom.
The day ticket for adults including participation in the parade is available for 10 euros, all event days including use of the campground are available for 30 euros. As usual, attendance is free for children under 14 accompanied by their parents. Admission to the last day of the event is free for everyone. The complete event program and lots of other information can be found online at www.edersee-meeting.de .
