From June 28 to July 1, 2012, the International Edersee Meeting attracted over 15,000 bikers - and didn't just make men happy!
The European Championships in front of you, sexy table dancers in the corner of your eye, a cool blonde in your hand and a top concert in sight.
There are times when you just don't want to go home. Like from June 28 to July 1, 2012 at the International Edersee Meeting - a huge party that, as usual, had a lot to offer, and not just for the men.
For more than a decade, the motorcycle festival around organizer and Harley dealer Arno Werkmeister from Harley-Davidson Kassel has been known far beyond the state borders as a synonym for maximum event fun at fair prices. New this year was the significantly expanded music program, because what could be more obvious than to use the good reputation for the best atmosphere and great sound to become the hottest music festival in the region with additional top bands?
The usual excellent cover bands were therefore reinforced by top acts such as „Betontod“, „Ohrenfeindt“ and „Ski's Country Trash“.
An effort that paid off: the guests rewarded the new line-up with a great party atmosphere. In addition to the 13 live bands, there was plenty more on offer: Stunt legend Rainer Schwarz delivered breathtaking motorcycle action, the latest Harley-Davidson models provided plenty of riding fun, and the dealer and customizer mile was guaranteed to have something for everyone. The „Extra Tip“ newspaper's dynamometer competition, where everyone could put their bike through its paces, was another exciting event.
In addition to the numerous motorcycle tours led by the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley Owners Group, the joint parade on Saturday in glorious sunshine with a good 1,000 participants and a parade of around seven kilometers was an unforgettable experience.
As usual, festival-like accommodation was available within the spacious event grounds - thanks to the campground including shuttle service to the event site, partying was twice as much fun. There was certainly no sleeping in the extra-large festival and dance tents. Whether it was table soccer, European Championship soccer, table dancing or a slow driving contest, the multi-day indoor and outdoor supporting program had everything to offer except boredom.
For Arno and his team, one thing is already clear: from June 27 to 30, 2013, the International Edersee Meeting will once again say: „I don't want to go home yet!“
