You don't treat yourself to anything else!
From June 28th to July 1st 2012, the International Edersee Meeting attracted over 15,000 bikers - and didn't just make men happy!
The European Championships in front of your eyes, sexy table dancers in the corner of your eye, a cool blonde in your hand and a top concert in prospect.
There are moments when you just don't want to go home.
Like from June 28th to July 1st 2012 at the International Edersee Meeting - a huge party that, as usual, had a lot to offer and not just for men. For more than a decade, the motorcycle festival led by organizer and Harley dealer Arno Werkmeister from Harley-Davidson Kassel has been known far beyond the country's borders as a synonym for maximum event fun at fair prices.
New this year was the significantly expanded music offering, because what could be more natural than becoming the region's hottest music festival with a good reputation for the best atmosphere and great sound through additional top bands? The usual excellent cover bands therefore received strong sound reinforcement from top acts such as “Betontod”, “Ohrenfeindt” and “Ski's Country Trash”.
An effort that paid off: the guests honored the new line-up with a great celebration atmosphere. In addition to the 13 live bands, there was a lot more on offer: stunt legend Rainer Schwarz delivered breathtaking motorcycle action, the latest Harley-Davidson models provided plenty of driving fun, and everyone looking for something was guaranteed to find what they were looking for on the dealer and customizer mile. Things got exciting again at the “Extra Tip” newspaper’s dynamometer competition, where everyone could put their bikes to the test.
In addition to the numerous motorcycle tours led by the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley Owners Group, the joint parade on Saturday in bright sunshine with a good 1,000 participants and a parade around seven kilometers long was an unforgettable experience.
As usual, it was possible to spend the night festival-like within the spacious event area - thanks to the campground including a shuttle service to the event area, celebrating was twice as much fun. There was definitely no sleep in the extra large festival and dance tents. Regardless of whether it was table football, European Championship football, table dancing or a slow driving contest, the multi-day indoor and outdoor supporting program had everything to offer except boredom.
For Arno and his team it is already clear: from June 27th to 30th, 2013 the motto at the International Edersee Meeting will be: “I don’t want to go home yet!”
