(Neu-Isenburg, 10.03.2016) Children, how time flies: 2016 will be the Edersee Meeting coming of age! The scene of the action will of course once again be Hemfurth in northern Hesse and, as usual, the mighty Edersee dam wall will provide the ideal backdrop for five fun-filled days of fun on two wheels. Only the date is new: in 2016, the mega party will take place from June 1 to 5, 2016.
The organizers are looking forward to an event that revives the spirit of those rustic meetings that made the Edersee Meeting famous at the end of the 1990s: „We would be delighted if a lot of bikers arrived with tents and sleeping bags this time - back to the roots!“, wishes „Mr. Edersee“, Arno Werkmeister, one of the spiritual fathers of the event.
Of course, everyone who enjoys the biker lifestyle and good music is welcome, regardless of whether they are staying in a hotel or tent and whether they are on a Harley-Davidson, by car or in the Motorhome arrive.
The latter group of party guests and clubs will even have their own area on the large campground in 2016. As visitors can enjoy a variety of catering and drinks stands on the event site, no-one needs to take food with them to „cook their own soup“. Of course, there will be plenty of dealers on hand for shopping around the favorite theme of „motorcycles“, and the new sanitary infrastructure is also guaranteed to make for happy faces.
Event highlights include the big custom bike contest, the stunt show and the guided rides through the vastness of the Waldecker Land region organized by the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley Owners Group. Between rolling hills and dense forests, past clear lakes and through rocky gorges, there are little roads with little traffic that are simply great fun. The parade offers a large portion of all this, even leading over the mighty Edersee dam wall, and a small foretaste can already be enjoyed by all those who have registered for a free test drive start. An impressive fleet of current Harley models is available for this purpose.
In the evening, people meet around the campfire, in the marquee and in the biker pub „Zündstoff“. Rock, blues and folk music are played everywhere - numerous live bands provide a fitting event soundtrack. In order not to put Edersee fans who stay for several days and use the campground at a disadvantage compared to day visitors, an entrance fee will be charged again - unlike last year. Traditionally, however, all prices remain on the carpet. Day visitors with or without a motorcycle, for example, pay 10 euros, entry is free on Sundays and children under the age of 14 accompanied by their parents are admitted free of charge anyway. Visitors with a motorcycle and tent can stay at the campground for four nights for 40 euros.
