From June 30th to July 3rd there was pure partying with over 15,000 bikers
13th International Edersee Meeting announced
At one of Germany's largest reservoirs, it's not always just breathtaking views, there can also be thousands of motorcycles that leave you speechless.
We are of course talking about the International Edersee Meeting, which, in its thirteenth year, has become one of the top motorcycle parties of the season with more than 15,000 visitors. Despite the not always ideal weather, thanks to perfect planning and an exuberant atmosphere, the event once again ran like a wild one and not like the darned thirteen. As always, the spacious event area below the Eder Bridge in Hemfurth in northern Hesse offered perfect conditions.
The four-day event was kicked off musically on Thursday evening by the bands Vodoo and Betty Ford, who gave it a blast with rock'n'roll. The following days also offered everything but boredom: whether it was beer crate climbing or biker games, bike wash or burnouts by stunt legend Rainer Schwarz, the team led by Kassel Harley-Davidson dealer Arno Werkmeister not only organized the event with a fantastic supporting program , but also something special again with its family-friendly prices.
A highlight for many bikers on Saturday afternoon was the motorcycle parade, which was celebrated by residents and guests. This year, for the first time without a stop, the visually and acoustically impressive parade went around the Edersee. Also a feast for the eyes: the candidates for the custom bike show.
Before the strict eyes of the jury, Edda Hupfeld won the overall victory for the best conversion with her excellent Evo. Gilbert from the south of France finally secured the trophy for the longest journey of 1,260 kilometers. Real fighters also thrilled the visitors on Sunday night. At least that's how all the boxing fans who were able to witness Klitschko's victory against Haye saw it live on the big screen.
Arno Werkmeister's conclusion about the Hessian mega party is once again extremely positive this year. “The atmosphere was simply brilliant! You're already looking forward to the next meeting!” The 14th International Edersee Meeting will take place from June 28th to July 1st, 2012 in Hemfurth, Hesse.
