Harley-Davidson at the EICMA 2019 in Milan / Italy
Harley-Davidson presents itself at the EICMA with a new exhibition stand covering a large area. The large touring flagships from Harley-Davidson model year 2020 are at the front of the stand.
The big EICMA motorcycle show in Milan is apparently the first address for motorcycle manufacturers to present their new products for the coming motorcycle season to the general public.
Harley-Davidson has developed a new strategy for presenting new models over the last few years. The LiveWire took around 5 years to reach the market, which is more than understandable for this particular project.
The Adventure Bike, the Pan America and the eagerly awaited Streetfighter BRONX will be presented to the public at the EICMA.

The Streetfighter is set to become the new driving force to attract a younger target group to the Harley riding community. Since 2018, more and more has been announced and you can't get rid of the feeling that the Harley-Davidson is far from finished with its new direction.
Because it looks like the two models presented will probably only come at the end of the 2020 season and are already listed as model year 2021. This will cause some displeasure among Harley dealers, because the Pan America is intended to generate new sales.
The technical data promise that it can become a real competitor against the top seller, the BMW GS.

Revolution Max 975 - Development goals
- V-twin engine with liquid cooling - Displacement: 975 cm³ - Power: more than 115 hp - Maximum torque: over 70 ft. lbs. (95 Nm)
Revolution Max – technical features
V-twin engines have been at the heart of Harley-Davidson motorcycles since 1909. The company is now continuing this tradition with the new Revolution Max engine in the medium displacement segment.
A cylinder angle of 60 degrees provides space for two throttle bodies in a downdraft arrangement, which ensure a high intake volume and powerful performance. Liquid cooling keeps the temperature difference between individual engine parts low, regardless of the outside temperature and driving situation.
Why is Harley-Davidson making its customers wait so long for the two models?
The question remains, why are they coming so late? Whether it has something to do with the new production sites would be a guess. In this respect, the existing clientele is very sensitive, the old customer will have to get used to it, for the new one it is of secondary importance.
In the car industry and also with other motorcycle manufacturers, it is quite common to produce in different countries.

Parts such as control units, brakes and tires mainly come from Europe and are now only installed in Europe. That's just the way it is, those who rely on old traditions will go under in the long term.
The new models with the Revolution Max motor

The Pan America has now been unveiled in a grayish orange, in the film footage it can be seen in black and a prototype in a dark green.
The new BRONX was seen in red/black, black and white/black. It certainly has the potential to reach a new target group.

The new engine seems to have good performance potential, which is particularly important in the Streetfighter class.
The Revolution Max with 1250cc and 145 hp is an announcement to the competition.
The American bike conversion, which was built as part of the international Custom Kings 2019 campaign Laidlaw's Harley-Davidson, can be seen at the EICMA. The Harley-Davidson Coast Glide FXGTS from Laidlaw's was specially EICMA according to Italy to be exhibited there.
The new electric Harley-Davidson bikes
Anyone who has not yet noticed that Harley-Davidson is undergoing a radical change will now realize that something is happening that nobody would ever have expected.
Harley-Davidson now also builds E-bikes, so real electric bicycles. Why not, whoever is a pioneer electric motorcycle like the LiveWire can build, this also has the know-how for electric bicycles.
They look really good, why not? Mercedes Benz also builds bicycles, but not fancy ones E-bikes like Harley-Davidson. This development is part of the „More Roads to Harley-Davidson“ concept, which Harley-Davidson announced a few years ago.
In the future, the price of e-bikes will certainly play a role in determining how much space the Harley Dealer for the e-bikes in their Stores I would not want to underestimate the market.

The LiveWire is at the EICMA
It is clear that the new LiveWire on the EICMA It divides the Harley fans. Apparently there is only the feeling of hate or love for the birth of the LiveWire to report.
After a short production stop, it is back in the race. In the USA, things like this always happen quickly; when technical problems arise with vehicles there, they are very radical.
It has now emerged that there was a problem with the customer's charging station, and the LiveWire had no influence on this. In any case, the news has been reported in the international press and production is up and running again.
The visit to the EICMA in Milan worthwhile, a wide range of new motorcycles will be on display at the Trade fair presented. It has been very successful for years and attracts all motorcycle manufacturers from around the world.
