Los Angeles, California – (July 10, 2019) – Kruse GWS Auctions, the world's record-breaking auction house for Hollywood and music memorabilia, announces a historically significant sale on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
The “Artifacts of Hollywood” auction begins at 10:00 a.m. PT. The event will be preceded by an exciting public pop-up exhibition, which will be announced shortly.
“Artifacts of Hollywood” exhibition
Of all the icons of the big screen, none are more electrifying than the Hollywood rebel, a persona they not only portrayed on screen but experienced off screen as well.
The Artifacts of Hollywood auction offers a glimpse into some of Hollywood's most popular bad boys, including Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen, James Dean and Jerry Lee Lewis, to name a few.
“This auction is exceptional. The variety of personal and never before offered possessions and vehicles is special.
Our focus has always been on preserving history and giving fans and collectors from around the world the opportunity to own incredible treasures from moments that shaped our culture.
Elvis his Harley-Davidson
The highlights, which include Elvis Presley's own vehicles including his limousine and Harley Davidson motorcycle, personal items of Kurt Cobain, Steve McQueen, Marilyn Monroe, Jerry Lee Lewis and Prince, make this auction a living reminder of the most beautiful moments Hollywood and music.
The auction will be one for the history books.

Elvis Presley's 1973 Lincoln Continental stretch limousine is up for auction for the first time. This is more than a vehicle owned by the “King of Rock 'n' Roll” – it has an incredible and highly documented history.
He bought his limousine, which he owned and drove, after seeing the vehicle in a movie.
Elvis regularly drove it to Graceland.
1973 Lincoln Continental stretch limousine
In 1976, when close pal JD Sumner was stuck at Graceland with no ride home, Elvis spontaneously tossed Sumner the keys to his prized limousine and ordered him to drive it home. A generous gift to a friend.
The limousine had all the amenities of the time, including a television. The white-on-white model with white exterior, interior and roof paint was on display at the Elvis Presley Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Now it's available at auction for the first time.
In another blockbuster offering - and once again for the first time - Kruse GWS Auctions will offer the last motorcycle Elvis Presley ever purchased.
In August 1976, Elvis flew back to his “Honeymoon House” in Palm Springs, California, and on the 11th of that month purchased a 1976 Harley Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide on the West Coast.
The Harley-Davidson, which has a special paint finish, has a low original mileage on the speedometer.
She has been on display at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, South Dakota since the late 1980s.
Presley's rare, one-of-a-kind motorcycle comes with all papers and historical documentation, including title and license plates that still have Elvis' name on them. Interestingly, it was the only vehicle in the museum that the public couldn't touch, and it was behind a glass display case.
Included with the motorcycle is the bill of sale signed by Presley when he sold it to a dealer just about 90 days before his death.
The unprecedented offering of Presley collectibles also includes medical equipment used by his nurse Tish Henley to monitor Elvis during his tour.
Instruments include an ophthalmoscope, blood pressure cuff, thermometer, ear irrigation, medical light, throat probe, and stethoscope.
Elvis Presley in his pickup truck
On the more traditional side, the auction features Presley's mother-of-pearl necklace. A personally used leather and wool coat, a “TCB” necklace and a limited edition diamond version.
An original 1956 "Heartbreak Hotel" press release, a 1956 press release about his debut album; and a third vehicle, his Circle G Ranch GMC pickup, one of three he purchased new for the property in 1967.
The ranch offered an escape from the press, and Elvis and his friends often drove the trucks around the vast expanse.
Two years later, Elvis' father, Vernon, sold the pickups back to the same dealer.
