European Bike Week 2014

Now it's already over again, the rain-drenched Harley-Davidson Mega party of the year in Europe. But as we all know, after the party is before the party!

Until Friday, the weather was really bad. The large square at Harley Village was completely soggy and could only be kept alive with wood chips and plastic sheeting. Unfortunately, the bikes couldn't be parked there, which was a problem overall because other parking areas couldn't be opened either.

The bike show had to be relocated so that the prized bikes had solid ground beneath their wheels. Unfortunately, there was no longer any space for a stage on which to hold the award ceremony.

Many bikers went home earlier this year, or didn't come at all. On Saturday in particular, all event areas were noticeably quieter than in previous years.

But still, those who didn't let it spoil their good mood certainly didn't care. It wasn't as crowded as usual, but there was enough going on everywhere to make it a great party! There were plenty of great bands and top DJ music.

Well-filled tents in Harley Village and Arneitz made us forget everything else. Once again, there were some really great bikes to see, which is what it's all about, after all. The new models were on display in Harley Village, the Harley-Davidson Discovery Tour successfully came to an end in Faak, and test rides were of course also carried out in full.

The bike shows offered plenty to feast your eyes on, with lots of newly built bikes on display. Some very special bikes from Kuwait were on show, and Aykut was awarded the Radical Class for his Stage III. The competition in this class was very fierce this year.

Except for the weather, European Bike Week was great, so we're looking forward to the next event at Lake Faaker See in 2015.

From September 8 to 13, 2015, it's happening again at Lake Faaker See...
