Around 100,000 fans made a pilgrimage to Europe's largest motorcycle festival
Faaker See from September 3rd to 8th, 2024 . Around 100,000 guests and more than 70,000 motorcycles once again underlined the enormous appeal of the event, which has been taking place in Faak since 1998.
The festival is the largest motorcycle festival on our continent and is open to riders of all brands - with free entry. In 2024, bikers from all over the world will continue to travel to celebrate their lifestyle and enjoy lots of entertainment and the unique atmosphere. As usual, the heart of the event beat in the Harley Village tent city in Faak am See.
In addition to HD dealers from all over Europe, there were also numerous independent traders offering accessories and clothing. everywhere on the approximately 40,000 m 2 site, especially since 40 live gigs were played on the two stages. Between the music acts, the rhythmically swirling flames and pyrotechnic effects of the fire shows as well as spectacular drone light shows on the nights of Friday and Saturday created breathtaking moments.
European Bike Week honored the life's work of long-time Harley-Davidson chief designer Willie G. Davidson with an exhibition in which numerous motorcycles he designed could be seen. A limited clothing series designed in honor of Willie G. was also offered.
To the great delight of Harley fans, Bill Davidson, son of Willie G. and great-grandson of company founder William A. Davidson, traveled to Faak from the USA. Countless guests took the opportunity to get an autograph or take a selfie with him.
The latest machines from the current HD vintage were presented at the expo, including the Street Glide and Road Glide models, which heralded a new era for the brand in terms of performance, technology and design and provided plenty to talk about. The motorcycles in the test drive area were fully booked throughout the entire event, as more than 1,700 bikers took the opportunity to test one of the current 2024 Harleys free of charge and without obligation.
The event highlights also included the Adventure Zone in the Village, where off-road professionals such as Marco Belli (Italy), Stuart Day (Great Britain), Joan Pedrero (Spain) and Ralf Wiesenfeller (Germany) were encountered. They offered off-road tutorials and showed guests what the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is capable of.
On Friday, the custom bike show sponsored by the tire manufacturer Metzeler took place in the customizer area. More than 60 individualized machines competed against each other in the fight for the coveted trophies in six categories as well as the titles “Best in Show” and “People's Choice”. The expert jury chose the machine that Thomas Emky from Germany entered the competition with as the “Best in Show” bike. The Metzeler Judges' Choice Award went to Max Biker from the USA with more than 600 submitted by the participants The People's Choice Award went to Dejan Nikolić from Slovenia. The HD trophies were presented to the winners by Bill Davidson and HD Chief Commercial Officer Luke Mansfield, while Global Brand Manager Riccardo Falcetta represented the Metzeler company.
Maurizio Amoruso from Livorno, Italy, was happy about a very special win: his lucky number was drawn on Saturday evening in front of a huge crowd at the HD Plaza, which is why he got a brand new Harley-Davidson Street Bob with Willie G.'s “Number One” Was allowed to take home the logo on the tank.
Around 10,000 bikers came together on Saturday for the parade sponsored by the tire manufacturer Dunlop, which led them from Lake Faak via Finkenstein and Villach back to Faak to the cheers of the population.
