The Ireland Bikefest Killarny is one of the somewhat unusual Harley-Davidson meetings . You can hardly ride your Harley much further west in Europe. This only tops the coast of Portugal, where I once traveled with the Heritage. The biggest difference will be that the climate in Ireland is a bit harsher than in the south. Everything depends on the weather, or rather, what you wear, at least that was my experience on my tours through Norway.
There are definitely parallels between these two countries. If the weather cooperates here, you'll be in an indescribably beautiful area. The west coast of Ireland in particular offers great roads along the Atlantic.
What to expect in Killarny
There is Ballybunion Beach , it is the most famous beach and seaside resort in North Kerry, where there are top beaches, cliffs and the best panoramic views of the Atlantic.
The guided BikeFest trips
Experience the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland
The greatest experience is probably the tours led by the three HOG chapters - Celtic Thunder Chapter, Waterford Gaelic Chapter, Dublin Belfast Chapter, Northern Ireland. The streets directly along the Atlantic are what should tempt you. Lots of nature for the eyes and soul, fresh sea air for the nose and health. There are five rides for BikeFest that have already been planned, you can see them here .
What awaits you at the BikeFest
The BikeFest Killarny is a real Harley-Davidson event
You may not really believe it, but on the west coast of Ireland they hold a Harley meeting with all the trimmings. Live music, stage, exhibitors and guided excursions. Of course everything depends on the weather, but somehow it all seems to work. In any case, the BikeFest in Ireland is at the top of my road map, I find the surrounding area and the people and their culture very interesting.
Getting to the BikeFest in Killarny Ireland
The tour via Dublin
As we all know, Ireland is an island, there are two direct routes from London to choose from. The first and longest route leads via London, Manchester to Birmingham. Behind Liverpool comes this extraordinary route called “Great Orme”, which can be discovered on the north coast of Wales, the short flying visit could be worth it.
From Birmingham take the ferry to Dublin and continue via Limerick to Killarny. That's a distance of just over 900 kilometers. There are very interesting places that you can also visit. The route from Dublin to Limerick is a motorway, if you have time you can certainly do this route better.
The southern route to Killarny
