Constant pressure to perform, jam-packed schedules and constant availability - the hamster wheel of life often seems to be spinning at supersonic speed. For all those who want to finally catch their breath and regain their coolness, Harley-Davidson recommends that instead of meditation, sounds of the spheres and aroma lamps, you simply get on your motorcycle and take off - ideally to one of the numerous events that will once again ground bikers all over our continent in 2015. Because here it's all about what really counts: real friends, powerful V-twins, the pleasure of riding and the fun of celebrating with good live music.
The Euro Festival (www.hogeuropegallery.com) of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, probably the most famous place of longing on the Côte d'Azur, opens the series of these extremely effective everyday time-outs from May 7 to 10. H.O.G. members and fans who love to travel should also mark June 18 to 21 in their calendars, as this is when the European H.O.G. Rally (www.hogeuropegallery.com) takes place - in Puerto Sherry on the Andalusian Bahía de Cádiz.
Of course, there are also celebrations in the big cities - for example in the friendly cathedral city of Cologne. With a perfect view of the cathedral and old town, the Harley Dome Cologne (www.harleydomecologne.de), which takes place from May 23 to 24. This will be followed a month later by Germany's biggest motorcycle event, the Hamburg Harley Days (www.hamburgharleydays.de), for three days - from June 26 to 28 - the cosmopolitan Hanseatic city will be wearing orange and black. And, of course, the V-twins will be roaring again in Austria's liveable and lovable capital from July 17 to 19. In the Ruhr region, the 21st Harley Meeting Ruhrpott will take place on August 2 (www.harley-meeting-ruhrpott.de).
Visitors to the Magic Bike Rüdesheim (www.magic-bike-ruedesheim.com), which takes place from June 4 to 7 in the heart of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site, and the guests of the Edersee Meeting (www.edersee-meeting.de), which takes place from July 2 to 5 in the charming low mountain landscape of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. And if you're in the mood for hairpin bends and alpine views, you should make a note of the Swiss Harley Days (www.swiss-harley-days.ch), which will shake up Lugano from July 3 to 5.
Doing good and having a lot of fun is the motto of the Charity Tour Austria (harley-charity-tour.at), which will take participants through Austria from August 12 to 16. And of course, the Alpine republic will once again be the venue for „the“ classic season finale: the European Bike Week (www.europeanbikeweek.com), the largest and most fascinating motorcycle event on our continent, takes place from September 8 to 13 in Faak am See. So that the blues don't strike in winter, Harley-Davidson also strongly recommends a visit to the „Custombike“ trade fair (www.custombike-show.de), which will be held in Bad Salzuflen from December 4 to 6.
For all those who want to fly in comfortably and enjoy fun with their own bike and like-minded people at fantastic vacation locations, the events organized by SKS Reisen (www.sks-reisen.de): the El Toro Run in Granada in March, the Algarve Run in Ria Formosa at the end of May, beginning of June and the Mallorca Bike Week in November. Safe motorcycle transportation to and from the event by truck is already included in the all-round carefree package.
