Fehmarn Days of American Bikes 2020 are canceled
The Fehmarn Days of American Bikes, from August 28 to 30 2020 have already been canceled. This has not really been clearly recognizable on the net over the last few days.
Harleysite We are receiving an increasing number of inquiries as to whether the event has really been canceled or what can be expected on the island of Fehmarn. It is not always the case with traditional events, similar to the Lake Faak difficult to say exactly what to expect there. According to my sources, there are already around 150 Harleys on the island of Fehmarn.
These are bikers who have been spending their planned vacation on the island with their motorcycles for years and have made long-term bookings in advance at campsites and accommodation.
Until yesterday, the date was still floating around on the Internet, but it is now also on the website Fehmarn.de canceled.
The key point is Wisser's Hotel, There are a few more benches approved than usual, but that's it.
There are plenty of tourists on the island
And now we come to the real problem. The island is full of tourists and if the weather is sunny on Saturday, we can expect plenty of problems. The market square is not cordoned off for motorcycles as usual and if only 500 motorcycles turn up, it will be a tight squeeze.
Not only tourists and motorcyclists will be there, but it is the task of the state police to ensure that the Corona rules are observed. This means that a distance of 1.50 m from other people must be maintained and it can already be assumed that the authorities will be keeping an eye on the situation.
As I said, it's not the crew from the small police station that will be keeping an eye on things, the state police will be there to monitor the situation. Apparently they are a bit nervous and don't want to see a second Hollister there if bikers want to take over the town and parking lots. I think this scenario is a bit far-fetched, but it could still get quite crowded on Saturday if the weather is good.
It's not an event now, but a gathering in a public space, so as long as you wear a mask and keep your distance, there will certainly be nothing going on.
