The Story – Fire Department Krad Pan America 1250 Special
It's a great story with a sad background. Just under a year ago, there was a Municipality of Kall in North Rhine-Westphalia, an almost unbelievable flood disaster, The media tended to focus on the Ahr Valley. However, many neighboring towns were just as badly affected by the flood disaster. This was the case in Kall, where the fire station next to the small Urft stream, which had turned into a raging river, was hit by the floodwaters. Even today, you can still smell the dampness in the fire station.
During the night, the command vehicle had to flee to higher ground because the town was flooded. The Kall Fire Department's previous motorcycle fell victim to the floods. Fortunately, circumstances led to the Nils Buntrock – Marketing Manager DACH at Harley-Davidson took notice and addressed the issue with his team.
It took several months to build the vehicle in such a way that the Pan America complies with the legal requirements for fire trucks.

The film is about how this idea came about in the first place, and the mayor recounts some dramatic moments during the flood disaster.

More InformationThe firefighters were delighted; it was clearly a successful surprise. We were able to celebrate with them until late in the evening and experienced firsthand how well the community works together.
The carnival club set up the beer stand for the firefighters, and the women from the village provided the best cakes. Nothing was missing, and so that everyone could celebrate, the firefighters helped out the carnival club and the rifle club.
As bad as the flood was, it brought the community even closer together, and volunteering is and remains an important institution. I've been told that the Kall fire department is looking for more members, which is basically the case everywhere. Maybe that's a reason to check them out. Incidentally, the youth fire department is also very active!
