Friendship Ride Germany 2012 sets new fundraising record
Have fun, meet friends, ride a Harley, and do some good at the same time? Impossible? – Not at all! As one of the most popular Harley-Davidson events in Germany, the Friendship Ride Germany in Fulda, Hesse, proves year after year that celebrating and supporting good causes are not mutually exclusive. Traditionally, the proceeds from the event go to charitable causes.
On February 2, the donations collected in 2012 were handed over to Harley-Davidson Fulda.
And it was truly impressive: this time, a remarkable €24,000 was raised, setting a new donation record in the history of the event. The reasons for this success are obvious: at the Friendship Ride, visitors can expect strong Stunt shows, Test rides on the latest Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a dealer mile with everything a biker's heart desires, and of course plenty of music and entertainment.
Visitors are also in for a culinary treat thanks to the delicious catering provided by the „Rhöner Charme“ restaurant association. A highlight for many bikers is always the group ride with hundreds of other bikers around Hesse's highest mountain, the Wasserkuppe.
As in previous years, a large portion of the money comes from the German Society for Muscular Disorders (D.G.M. e.V.), which is dedicated to researching and combating muscle diseases and can look forward to a check for €18,000 this time. Another €6,000 went to the youth education center on the Wasserkuppe, which organizes leisure activities for children and young people.
It goes without saying that the Friendship Ride for 2013 is already a done deal, because of course the organizer, Harley-Davidson Germany, with the active support of the helpers from the H.O.G. Chapter Fulda-Rhön break this year's current donation record.
