(Neu-Isenburg, May 2, 2018) Was everything better in the past? Not at all! Around 1900, roads were mostly in poor condition and distances were often insurmountable—a bad combination.
But young self-taught motorcyclists like Harley and Davidson set about building vehicles that would get you from A to B as comfortably and stress-free as possible. They sold their first three motorcycles in 1903. Millions were to follow and today Harley-Davidson is considered the most traditional motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Other manufacturers have come and gone, but Harley-Davidson has remained - for 115 years now. Of course, this needs to be celebrated! In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the home of the US company, the birthday party will take place from August 29 to September 2 and all European fans of the brand can look forward to a mega party in Prague, which will take place from July 5 to 8. In addition to 115 years of Harley-Davidson, there will also be 35 years of the Harley Owners Group and the 90th anniversary of the Harley-Davidson Club Prague to celebrate.
The epicenter of the event in the Czech capital is the exhibition grounds in the Holešovice district. In addition to regional cuisine specialties and perhaps the best beer in the world, there are plenty of attractions for young and old V-Twin fans. These include the Family Paradise, which offers fun and excitement for children, the Dark Custom Area with bungee jumping, skate park and freestyle motocross, the H.O.G. Village with its own Jack Daniel's area, the Jeep Touring Zone with the latest products from the US off-road specialist and, of course, bikes, bikes and even more bikes. In addition to a large exhibition of the latest models from Milwaukee, which can also be test-driven, the Motor Company presents a museum where visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the brand. The big custom bike show and the Prague Custom Battle 2018 will be a treat for fans of customized bikes, while the stunt shows with their wheelies, stoppies and burnouts promise many an adrenaline rush.
The focus of a motorcycle event is of course on motorcycling itself, and that starts with the journey to the event, as fans from all over the world make their way to the Czech capital - including around 100 dealerships, who are on the road together with customers and employees. Once there, the visitors put their riding skills to the test in the biker games and ride through Prague in the grand parade. And because both the city and its Bohemian surroundings have a lot to offer, you can embark on fascinating journeys of discovery on guided tours or on recommended routes.
As a Harley party without music is unthinkable, the company is also going all out in this respect: More than 40 live bands will provide the soundtrack to the event. Those arriving a day early will also have the chance to experience a very special kick-off for the event, as the greatest rock band of all time will be performing in Prague on July 4: The Rolling Stones will be stopping off at the Prague-Letňany airfield on their „No Filter“ tour - let's say it with Mick Jagger: It's only rock ’n‘ roll (but I like it)!
Tickets and further information about the event are available at h-d.prague115.com.
