Hagen Police: Harley rider seriously injured in accident

Hagen-Haspe (ots) Police reports: On Friday, May 13, 2022, at around 5 p.m., a 27-year-old man was riding his motorcycle accompanied by an acquaintance (also on a motorcycle) on an outing along Grundschöttler Straße from Haspe toward Wetter. At that moment, a 79-year-old woman turned her Kia from Auf Lumbeck street onto Grundschöttler Straße. In doing so, she failed to see the approaching motorcyclists.

The 27-year-old honked his horn, shouted, and tried to swerve. However, the man from Schwerte was unable to prevent the collision. He fell and was seriously injured. The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital. His Harley-Davidson was thrown into the embankment and was later recovered. The traffic police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. (hir)
