HARLEY-DAVIDSON ANNOUNCES THE WINNER OF THE ULTIMATE TEST RIDE COMPETITION

Andre Smetsers is invited to the USA, where he creates his own custom bike together with a Harley-Davidson® designer

Oxford (November 23, 2015) - Harley-Davidson® has drawn Andre Smetsers from the Netherlands from all participants in the „King of all Test Rides“ competition, which was held in Europe and Africa. Smetsers has won a truly unique prize: a Dark Custom™ bike customized according to his very own ideas, which he designed together with Harley-Davidson Senior Industrial Designer Dais Nagao.

As the basis for his conversion, Andre may choose one of the Dark Custom Bikes from Harley-Davidson choose. Together with Nagao, he will then design the machine of his dreams in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A regional European Harley-Davidson dealer will then realize the design.

Harley-Davidson will cover all costs for the VIP trip to the USA and accommodation in Milwaukee, the home of the Motor Company, where Andre will also be invited on a guided tour of the Harley-Davidson Museum. Before that, however, he will fly to California to experience the Los Angeles custom scene in style on a dark custom bike.

Tens of thousands of motorcycle fans from Europe and Africa took part in the „King of all Test Rides“ competition in September and October 2015 by taking part in a Harley-Davidson Dark Custom model for a test ride. These include the redesigned Forty-Eight® and Iron™ 883 models, the Street 750®, the Street Bob, the new Street Bob Special and the Fat Bob®.

Andre Smetsers had taken a test ride on a Forty-Eight at „Central Harley-Davidson“ in Veghel, the Netherlands. „This is incredible,“ said the overjoyed winner when he received the news from the company, „I'm getting a custom bike as a gift and will be traveling to the USA - I can hardly believe it!“ Harley-Davidson is delighted for Andre and wishes him all the best on his new bike.
