From a legal perspective, it is not much more than a trademark, a name or a logo, but it means much more to the consumer: it offers orientation in the sea of products, positions them on the market and conveys a clear message. We're talking about the brand. But a good name and a pretty symbol are not enough for success - what a brand promises, it has to keep, otherwise it will quickly be gone. The company, all its products and all the people who work with them have to earn the trust of customers every day. Anyone who does this well has a “valuable” brand.
What this means in concrete terms is determined every year by the international market research institute “Interbrand” . In the complex process in which brands are rated with points based on seven factors, Harley-Davidson was once again one of the “Top 100” most valuable brands in the world in 2013. According to the experts, the brand value has increased by 10 percent compared to the previous year. Of the 14 automotive brands listed in the ranking, the Milwaukee company is the only manufacturer that exclusively produces motorcycles.
“bike und business” also ensure happy faces at Harley-Davidson. The representative market study, which is based on over 500 telephone interviews, evaluates product quality, delivery capability and dealer support in marketing and sales. Harley-Davidson beat out a competitor from Germany and one from Italy and was able to position itself at the top of the winner's podium with the top score in the “Volume Motorcycle Manufacturer” category.
Last but not least, the top-class jury from “bike und business” selected the “Motorcycle Dealer of the Year” from 118 companies taking part in this year’s competition – and once again caused champagne corks to pop in the black and orange warehouse: Harley-Davidson Westpoint in Augsburg The coveted trophy was presented - 220 representatives from industry, trade and associations celebrated at the fourth “bike and business” conference in Würzburg.
