What will happen to the Harley-Davidson Breakout in 2021? There are reports online that the Breakout will be discontinued completely in 2021.
Harleysite has other information on the subject of breakouts. It should be noted that Harley-Davidson is certainly capable of making snap decisions when it comes to models, but this does not happen very often.
The Breakout is a superb bike that comes factory-fitted with a 240/40 wide tire on an 18-inch wheel. Anyone who starts customizing this bike will soon have their dream bike in their garage with very little effort.

Breakout has a large fan base.
There is a really large fan base for this Harley-Davidson machine. Harley-Davidson is aware of this too. Although the company has said that it will be discontinuing around 30% of its current model range, the Harleysite website states that the Breakout NOT This is not entirely true, at least not completely, as some rumors suggest or portray.
The Breakout is available in two displacement versions, the 107 and the 114. Last year, the 107 was hardly to be seen at authorized dealers. It was possible to order the 107 and it was also delivered with the 107, but it was no longer prominently offered.
The Breakout 107cui version is being discontinued.
According to my information, this is what will happen: the Breakout with the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine will be discontinued, and from 2021 onwards, the Breakout will only be available to order as a new vehicle with the high-capacity 114 cui Milwaukee-Eight engine.
We will see this process more often, as Harley-Davidson is slowly but steadily phasing out the 107 engine from its range. My further information indicates that work is already underway on the next generation of Harley-Davidson engines for Euro 6. No one knows exactly where EU policy will take us, but at some point we will have to drive hybrids in order to meet Euro standards at all.

Euro 5 is a tradition killer
After more than 60 years of pure Harley culture, the Euro 5 standard has now taken away the Sportster, one of the most beautiful Harley classics ever—really sad! If it all made sense, okay, but these motorcycles are more of a small series, where most of them are only ridden in leisure time.
The Breakout is a perfect opportunity for customizers
The Breakout with the 114 engine is a good combination and, as already mentioned, it is simply beautiful. You can't just take it off the market, not even on a whim.

Considering that Yamaha has just announced that it will no longer offer the XT1200 Tenere due to the Euro 5 standard, the timing is ideal. The Pan America Pure, but it will still have a tough time competing with the BMW GS. It will certainly be priced above the Tenere, but there is definitely a market with strong purchasing power for adventure bikes.

Oh dear, how embarrassing!
The Russians are rolling up their sleeves and bringing their old boxer engine lineup through the Euro 5 standard, but Harley isn't even trying to keep the Sportster alive. Air-cooled long-stroke engines are becoming increasingly rare. But short-stroke water buckets are probably the mainstream trend.
I feel sick...
I bought the Lowrider S with the 110 Screaming Eagles in November 2016 with my hard-earned money and extensively rebuilt it.
Improved chassis, rear conversion, small turn signals, different taillights, Kess Tech exhaust, seat, and so on. We're talking about a good €26,000!
In 2017, I couldn't drive much for professional and health reasons. In 2018, 2019, and 2020, I could. Now, after just under 26,000 kilometers, the engine is a total write-off! Mind you: all inspections done, always warmed up carefully and well maintained. After hours of research on the internet, you find out that the 110s are screwed before they reach 30,000 km. Harley Davidson doesn't even care!
I just had to get that off my chest, because I am extremely disappointed.
And now I have a pile of junk that isn't worth much anymore.
HD is well aware of the problem, but they're just sweeping it under the rug. There should have been a recall a long time ago! But since many HD riders don't ride as much as I do, most of them only have 30,000 km on the clock after 6-8 years, and that's exactly what Harley Davidson is shamelessly exploiting! I'm going to reactivate my '95 EVO and banish the new junk from my garage.

They should make the engines durable and finally get them up to 150 hp. I think the rubber-mounted version is the best.
I haven't had any problems yet. I mostly ride touring bikes, but the M8 performs really well, even on long journeys and under full load. I've never had any issues. The Pan America will have around 145 hp, so that's probably the engine generation you're waiting for.

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, that doesn't sound good for you, but I know others who have driven more than 30,000 miles with the 110 and are still driving it. I only know one person who had problems with a 2003 model. My buddy rides a 2007 model and it now has 42,000 miles on it, 20,000 of which were covered in the last two years. When we're on the road, they have to work hard, especially when we're riding long distances, and they've always kept up so far. I myself have ridden the 2015 and 2016 CVOs, both of which are also capable of full throttle. When I ride home from Lake Faaker See, which is 1,360 kilometers, there's no mercy. The only thing that has always bothered me is that they always get very hot in midsummer when stationary, despite cylinder deactivation. Otherwise, I've always enjoyed riding them, and if there's something wrong with the engines, they'll blow up on you at full throttle, as we've heard from some 117s from 2019, but the problem has been fixed since 2020. The question is always whether they are always warmed up properly, etc. You always had them serviced, so what is the problem with your 110? Did you have a different mapping and a tuned air filter?.
