Callback | CVO STREET GLIDE, CVO ROAD GLIDE 2023
KBA reference number: 013247 – October 2023
Manufacturer/Brand: HARLEY-DAVIDSON
Affected models: CVO STREET GLIDE, CVO ROAD GLIDE (built in 2023)
Reason for the recall: Harley-Davidson has started a recall for the 2023 CVO STREET GLIDE and CVO ROAD GLIDE models. This affects a total of 5,455 vehicles worldwide, 56 of which are believed to be in Germany.
Problem: The problem lies in the inadequate fastening of the rear brake line, which can lead to contact with the exhaust system. This creates a risk of damage to the line, which could result in reduced braking performance. Fortunately, no incidents involving property damage or personal injury have been reported to date.
Monitoring and remedial action: The recall campaign is being monitored by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). As a remedy, repair shops will replace the rear brake line mounting bracket with an improved version known as a “P-clamp”. Affected vehicles were produced between April 11 and September 6, 2023.
Important information for vehicle owners: Vehicle owners should contact the manufacturer or an authorized workshop immediately. It is important to note that the defects listed often only affect certain versions of the vehicles, and therefore not all vehicles of the same type are necessarily affected by the recall.
Further information: The manufacturer's service hotline is available for detailed information and information about possible recalls for your own vehicle. It is strongly recommended that you make use of this option to ensure the safety and functionality of the vehicle.
Final Note: Rider safety and vehicle integrity are Harley-Davidson's top priorities. The company's prompt and proactive response to the identified issue underscores its commitment to the quality and safety of its products. Harley-Davidson riders are asked to take the necessary steps to ensure their motorcycles meet the highest safety standards.
