The international Harley-Davidson Custom King was crowned at the EICMA in Milan
• Ten finalists were judged by the expert jury
• The international Custom King of the Year 2017 comes from Perugia, Italy
• The 2018 edition of the competition is already getting underway
(Neu-Isenburg, November 13, 2017) When kings used to compete against each other, it was never without bloody noses. It was completely different at Harley-Davidson , where the European authorized dealers were asked to demonstrate their talent in customizing in the big “Battle of the Kings” contest for the third time.
They used either an Iron 883 , a Forty-Eight or a Roadster . determined Harley via online voting In our republic, Harley-Davidson Pfeiffer from Kamen won the race with its elegant Café Racer and became the German Custom King.
Norway , Austria, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland competed at the international motorcycle trade fair EICMA in Milan in the all-important final battle for the crown of the international custom king. An expert jury - including Harley-Davidson Vice President of Styling Brad Richards, rock guitarist Gilby Clarke and six-time British Superbike champion Shane Byrne - judged the ten machines. Not an easy undertaking given the high quality of the conversions.
But in the end there could only be one winner - and it's called "Bombtrack" and comes from the masterful Italian workshop of Harley-Davidson Perugia.
Steve Lambert , Director of Marketing at Harley-Davidson International , said: “The 'Battle of the Kings' contest is only getting bigger and better: the participation of 191 dealers in 2017 underlines its increasing importance! And with the bikes, our dealers demonstrate an enormously broad spectrum of custom and design talent, which is generating great interest among fans: over 80,000 votes were cast this year. Congratulations to the Harley-Davidson Perugia team for the 2017 Custom King crown – it’s well deserved!”
And because “after the coronation” is always “before the coronation” at Harley-Davidson, the fourth round of the “Battle of the Kings” begun: Germany’s authorized dealers are already hatching fresh ideas based on a bike from the “Dark Custom” portfolio. As usual, customizing must not cost more than 6,000 euros, half of the parts installed should come from Harley-Davidson and the result must be approved. The bikes will be unveiled at dealers in mid-January 2018 and will launch at customkings.harley-davidson.com on January 15th. the online voting. You can already be excited!
