HIGH-QUALITY PAINTS AND SURFACE TREATMENTS
Harley-Davidson CVO models are characterized by exclusive paint colors and designs. CVO models are often used to introduce alternative surface treatments instead of conventional painting or chrome plating.
The CVO Fade Paint, for example, in which a color becomes darker from bottom to top, requires an extremely complex process that was developed exclusively for Harley-Davidson.
The fade effect on the various painted parts of the machine is carefully tuned to create the illusion that the motorcycle is illuminated from below. To create this impression, the expertly programmed, robot-assisted application of several layers of paint is required.
Another finish used on the exhaust system of the darkest versions of the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide is called Black Onyx and is applied to chrome-plated surfaces using physical vapor deposition (PVD).
This vacuum coating process was originally developed for military applications and jewelry making. The “Black Onyx” coating is very durable, but at the same time so thin that the chrome plating underneath shines through in bright light.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE ENGINES
The CVO types are the only Harley-Davidson models equipped with the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin, which thanks to its high-performance camshaft, its compression ratio increased to 10.2:1 and its displacement of 117 cui (1,923 cm3). According to the model, a maximum torque of up to 171 Nm is developed at 3,750 rpm.
On the 2019 CVO models, you can recognize the Milwaukee-Eight 117 by the fact that the rocker boxes have a Blaze Red stripe.
CVO TECHNOLOGIES
All 2019 CVO models come standard with the new Boom! Box GTS infotainment system equipped.
The included wireless headset with Bluetooth interface for the Boom! Box GTS eliminates the need for cables and offers the same functions as a wired headset with first-class sound quality.
It has a range of up to 1 mile and can communicate with up to eight other compatible headsets. The CVO Limited model comes with two wireless headsets, the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models each come with one wireless headset.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which is also standard, informs the driver on the Boom! Box display shows the current tire pressure at the front and rear and warns you in the event of a loss of pressure.
BOOM! PREMIUM AUDIO SYSTEM
The CVO Street Glide comes standard with six Boom! Stage II bi-amped speakers, which are housed in pairs in the fairing, in the leg shields and in the lids of the side cases and provide 150 watts per channel from three separate 300 watt amplifiers for a total output of 900 watts - the most powerful Factory-installed Harley-Davidson audio system that envelops the rider in rich, clear sound.
CVO Limited has four Boom! Stage I speakers, which are mounted in pairs in the fairing and in the passenger backrest and are driven by an amplifier with 75 watts of power per channel.
The CVO Road Glide comes with four Boom! Equipped with Stage II bi-amped speakers, which are mounted in pairs in the fairing and in the lids of the side cases. Here, 150 watts per channel from two separate 300 watt amplifiers provide 600 watts of total power.
