East Hesse: Harley-Davidson accident in A7 construction site – driver seriously injured
Niederaula - On Friday, June 3rd, 2022, a 66-year-old from the Ludwigshafen am Rhein area drove his Harley-Davidson FD2 motorcycle on the BAB A7, Kassel-Fulda, between the AD Kirchheim and the AD Hattenbach, around 3:30 a.m the right of the two lanes on the left of the construction site there.
According to current investigations, in the construction site area the driver veered off the road to the right for an unknown reason and touched the road barrier (concrete anti-skid barrier) and fell.
The driver of the motorcycle was accessible on site, but was seriously injured and received medical care at the scene of the accident by an emergency doctor and paramedics. He was then taken to a hospital.
The two lanes on the left side of the construction site had to be closed for around 50 minutes due to the emergency measures. The following traffic was backed up for around 3 kilometers until the road was opened.
No other road users were involved in the traffic accident.
The material damage caused is estimated at around 2,000 euros.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
