Big season finale 2015 with the European Bike Week at Lake Faaker See
Oxford (September 7, 2015) - From September 8 to 13, 2015, the region around Lake Faak in Austria's southernmost federal state will be filled with the roar of engines; 100,000 Harley-Davidson fans and motorcycle enthusiasts will meet there for European Bike Week® , the most hotly anticipated event of this year's biker calendar .
First held in 1998, the event has grown from its humble beginnings in the picturesque village on the banks of Lake Faak to one of Harley-Davidson's largest rallies. To send off this year's season in style, Europe's largest motorcycle event will fill the region with enthusiasts who live in sync with Harley-Davidson engines . Over the course of five days and nights, visitors to these legendary events can expect live music, entertainment and great tours along the Austrian country roads.
At the center of all activities is the Harley-Davidson Village , where participants can see the latest models for 2016 for the first time, visit the customizer area or stock up on accessories at the numerous sales stands. One of the favorites will once again be the Custom Bike Show , where dozens of master customizers will present their individual creations. And a promising line-up of great artists with a diverse music program will ensure that there is a party atmosphere even at night.
The latest Harley-Davidson models for 2016 will be on display at the expo and will also be available for test rides in the demo area. Visitors also have the chance to win a new Harley-Davidson Iron 883. To enter, you must purchase one of the limited-edition wristbands from the Village's official merchandising area. The raffle will take place on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 p.m. on the main stage. And as I said, there are only a limited number of wristbands available, so it's first come, first served! *)
Every evening there are shows from well-known musicians and up-and-coming talent on the main stage, in the bars and cafés and in the event areas. This year these include 'The Rain Band', 'Wardogs', 'Kraken', 'Gravel Tones', 'Die Dicken Kinder', 'Mr Breeze', 'DJ Sterling Moss' and many more.
While fully booked hotel rooms, guesthouses and campsites can be expected within a radius of 20 kilometers, high spirits are guaranteed for the duration of the entire event due to the numerous entertainment options on the main stage, in the bars and cafés. As in previous years, one of the highlights is the big parade on Saturday lunchtime, in which thousands of bikers will roll through the wonderful Carinthian landscape, accompanied by many onlookers who don't want to miss this spectacle from the side of the road.
Additional attractions for guests with less local knowledge include guided tours by regional Harley fans along the most beautiful nearby Alpine roads, and experienced technicians specially trained by Harley-Davidson demonstrate their skills in a special technology area.
