(Neu-Isenburg, July 8th, 2019) There are big events, very big and huge. European Bike Week belongs to the latter category. “Faak”, as most people call the event on Carinthia's turquoise lake of the same name, is a superlative - and has been since 1998, when Harley-Davidson held the first motorcycle festival here.
It is now common practice among bikers to have been there at least once in their life. But anyone who has experienced this event in Austria's biker paradise will definitely come back. And so the party grew beyond itself over more than two decades.
September 3rd to September 8th, 2019
The 2019 date - September 3rd to 8th - is already marked in red in the diaries of thousands of music and petrolheads who appreciate a good mood, a relaxed atmosphere and winding streets through wonderful alpine landscapes.
In the first week of September, swarms of two-wheelers from all over the world will once again make a pilgrimage to Carinthia. There will be celebrations around the lake and once again the 40,000 square meter Harley Village in Faak will set the pulse of the event.
This is where people meet to relax and talk shop, to enjoy bikes, food, drinks and music and of course to shop.
Around 20 authorized Harley-Davidson dealers and countless other independent traders' tents invite you to attend, offering everything from scarves to custom parts to complete motorcycles that will warm the hearts of all those who have petrol in their blood. Twice-daily fashion shows have recently provided inspiration for revamping Harley's wardrobe.
NEW HARLEY BAR WITH LARGE TENT AND STAGE
Also new is the Harley Bar, a large tent with a live stage in the Customizer Area of the Village. A biker-style Oktoberfest with pretzels, white sausages and beer from the Steinkrug is celebrated in the new Faaktober tent, which is also located on the Main Plaza, as is the Harley Lounge, a new open-air location where cocktails, Burgers and an entertainment program can be enjoyed.
The popular Vida Loca Bar is even bigger and more elaborate in 2019. On Friday, people will once again meet in the Village who don't reject reason, but can get along just fine without it at times: the Harley-Davidson custom bike show is all about trophies and honor.
THE ARTIST DAVID UHL COMES TO FAAK
The Village is also the starting point for the guided tours into the Eldorado of curves in the surrounding Alpine region and here in the Expo tent you will find artist David Uhl and his works as well as the matching Milwaukee Irons for 2020 - above all the LiveWire, the first electric one powered motorcycle from a mass-produced manufacturer.
On the Main Plaza, everyone can try out what riding a Harley feels like on the driving simulators. Driver's license holders can now register at the intersection of Bahnhofstrasse and Seeufer-Landesstrasse for a test drive or a guided Softail Experience Ride that lasts around two hours through the region's most beautiful curves.
THE GREAT HARLEY-DAVIDSON PARADE
For the big parade, you start your own bike again to set off on a grand farewell lap, which is traditionally cheered by thousands of Carinthians. And when show rounds are done every evening around the lake and parking space for bikes becomes scarcer and scarcer along the village street, a number of live bands rock the village.
The line-up of the LIVE BÜHNE
This year's top musical acts include The Picturebooks, who released their fifth studio album in March. In addition, Password Monkey, Bruzzler, the Stiletto Rockband, Shooting Star and Prof. Washboard will also take to the Village stages.
Conclusion: If you stay at home in the first week of September, you will miss nothing less than the mega party of the year! For more information, visit events.harley-davidson.com .
