(Neu-Isenburg, 08.07.2019) There are big events, very big and huge. The European Bike Week belongs in the latter category. „Faak“, as most people call the event on Carinthia's turquoise-blue lake of the same name, is one superlative - and has been since 1998, when Harley-Davidson held its first motorcycle party here.
Nowadays, it is considered good form among bikers to have been there at least once in their lives. But anyone who has experienced this event in Austria's biker paradise is guaranteed to come back. And so, over more than two decades, the party has grown beyond itself.
September 3 to September 8, 2019
The 2019 dates—September 3 to 8—are already marked in red in the calendars of thousands of music and petrolheads who appreciate good vibes, a relaxed atmosphere, and winding roads through beautiful alpine landscapes.
In the first week of September, swarms of two-wheelers from all over the world will once again make their pilgrimage to Carinthia. There will be celebrations all around the lake, and once again the 40,000-square-meter Harley Village in Faak will set the pace for the event.
This is where people meet to relax and talk shop, enjoy bikes, food, drinks, and music, and of course to shop.
Around 20 Harley-Davidson dealers and countless other independent traders will be there with tents offering everything from neckerchiefs and custom parts to complete motorcycles – simply everything to warm the hearts of those who have gasoline in their blood. Twice a day, fashion shows will provide inspiration for revamping your Harley wardrobe.
NEW HARLEY BAR WITH LARGE TENT AND STAGE
Another new feature is the Harley Bar, a large tent with a live stage in the Customizer area of the Village. A biker-style Oktoberfest with pretzels, white sausages and beer from the Steinkrug is celebrated in the new Faaktober tent, which is also located on the Main Plaza, as is the Harley Lounge, a new open-air location where cocktails, burgers and an entertainment program can be enjoyed in peace and quiet.
The popular Vida Loca Bar will be even bigger and more elaborate in 2019. On Friday, people who don't reject reason but can sometimes do without it will once again gather in the Village: the Harley-Davidson Custom Bike Show is all about trophies and honor.
ARTIST DAVID UHL COMES TO FAAK
The Village also serves as the starting point for guided tours into the winding roads of the surrounding Alpine region. Here, in the Expo tent, alongside artist David Uhl and his works, you will find the matching Milwaukee Irons for 2020 – led by the LiveWire, the first electric motorcycle from a major manufacturer.
At Main Plaza, anyone can try out the driving simulators to see what it feels like to ride a Harley. Meanwhile, license holders can sign up at the intersection of Bahnhofstraße and Seeufer-Landesstraße for a test drive or a guided Softail Experience Ride lasting around two hours through the region's most beautiful curves.
THE BIG HARLEY-DAVIDSON PARADE
For the grand parade, riders start up their bikes again to set off on a spectacular farewell lap, which is traditionally cheered on by thousands of Carinthians. And when show laps around the lake take place every evening and parking space for bikes along the village street becomes increasingly scarce, numerous live bands rock the village.

This year's top musical acts include The Picturebooks, who released their fifth studio album in March. Password Monkey, Bruzzler, the Stiletto Rockband, Shooting Star, and Prof. Washboard are also set to take to the stages of the Village.
