Harley-Davidson confirms that it will continue planning for European Bike Week in September 2021

NEW ISENBURG (June 16, 2021) - After the Austrian government recently announced further easing of the nationwide corona measures, Harley-Davidson assumes that the European Bike Week in Faak am See will take place again this year - from June 7th .until September 12th.

Thanks to the continuous decline in the number of cases, the pandemic-related restrictions in Austria were gradually reduced in May. The easing steps planned for June were ultimately brought forward by a week - in line with Chancellor Sebastian Kurz's promise that the country would return to "normality, freedom, normal life" as quickly as possible.

Most measures in the areas of society, work and travel - including abroad - are to be withdrawn over the course of the summer. Austria's vaccination campaign has also made enormous progress. Wolfgang Mückstein, the Austrian Federal Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, stated on June 8th that “half of the population eligible for vaccination has already received a vaccination and this means that further relaxations are possible”.

Christian Poglitsch, mayor of Finkenstein am Faaker See, assumes that the European Bike Week can take place: “The news from the Austrian government sounds positive to us and we look forward to the European Bike Week returning to Faak in a safe manner can. Local shops will be open and our visitors will be able to enjoy one of the most picturesque areas in Austria. Carinthia and especially the region around Lake Faaker See are proud of their long history together with the European Bike Week and we look forward to welcoming motorcyclists again in September 2021.”

Kolja Rebstock, Harley-Davidson Regional Vice President, Managing Director EMEA and Managing Director DACH, added: “I am thrilled that European Bike Week can take place this year and would like to warmly introduce myself to everyone in our team and to our partners Thank you to everyone who made the event possible. And last but not least, of course, with all the Harley riders – without them the European Bike Week would not have been such a success. Events like these define our lifestyle and our identity – and that’s why we can’t wait for European Bike Week to start on September 7th.”

Harley-Davidson is aware of its responsibility for employees and fans of the brand and will therefore pay close attention to whether gathering or travel restrictions are imposed again in Austria or surrounding countries and adjust the event format accordingly if necessary. At the same time, Harley-Davidson Motor Company is doing everything it can to bring back events that focus on the passion for motorcycling as soon as possible. Further information about European Bike Week 2021 will be announced shortly.
