The Daytona Bike Week 2020 in Florida / USA

Daytona Bike Week recently ended in Florida. It is one of the largest Harley-Davidson events in the world. It brings together bikers from all corners of the world. Among the Harley-Davidson city events, the Hamburg Harley Days are at the forefront. Under normal circumstances, Daytona Bike Week offers one of the best opportunities to conquer the country on a Harley-Davidson in combination with a trip to the USA. Anyone who can fulfill this dream will talk about this experience for a long time.

The coronavirus is stopping the fun!

Unfortunately, the coronavirus has caused some problems. Planned tours were stopped prematurely because it was no longer clear whether the return flights would work, and those where everything went according to plan had their flights canceled because Trump issued a 30-day entry ban from Europe.

This left many in the States stuck and having to figure out how to get home. If no plane arrives from Europe, it's unlikely anyone will pick you up. That's exactly what happened to my buddy Bakerman, but luckily he still arrived home a little late and via a detour and still had a few photos from Daytona Bike Week in his luggage for us.

Daytona Bike Week is dominated by Harleys!

Daytona Bike Week is open to brands, but is traditionally dominated by Harley-Davidson fans. It's almost unbelievable what kind of bikes Americans are allowed to ride on the road, especially in Florida freedom is very important. Loud exhaust systems, riding without a helmet, do whatever you want, it's your own responsibility.

Daytona Beach is located in eastern Florida on the Atlantic coast, where the legendary Speedway and 500 Nascar races also take place. In some parts of the beach you are allowed to drive a car or motorbike. I think that says enough about the freedoms lived in Florida.

I can recommend the Daytona Bike Week to everyone. If you want to make your US dream come true, you'll have to raise a few euros, but it's worth it.

Main Street in Daytona

The event is centered on Main Street in Daytona! Everything happens here, bikers ride up and down here around the clock, you can easily spend hours in this place. The world-famous bike show takes place on Fridays at the Beach Pier. It has lost some of its shine over the years, but you should still check it out.

The Rats Hole Bike Show ended up under “furthermore”, rather go to the Iron Horse, or one of the largest Harley dealers in the world. Bruce Rossmeyer is awesome, there is a lot of additional entertainment in front of the store during Bike Week.

I've already met the famous Harley-Davidson painters Scott Jacobs and David Uhl . In the USA they are stars, in Europe we only have a thing for Picasso, while in the USA a print of the original can fetch thousands of euros , the two artists here in Germany would rather starve to death. David Uhl was at the European Bike Week at Faaker See , with his art exhibition in the Harley-Davidson Expo Tent .

The beautiful surroundings in Florida

The environment of Daytona is unique, especially in March it is not too warm and rain is rare. Things are difficult during Bike Week. To get a Harley-Davidson rented, the largest rental company is known to be Eagle Rider. The easiest way will be to combine the experience with one of Eagle Rider's tours if you would like to ride a Harley-Davidson. In any case, you should at least rent a car; if you want to see everything about the Bike Week, you should be mobile.

The routes along the Atlantic coast are particularly beautiful, the wind blows in your face and you can see Harleys cruising everywhere. If you have the time, you should drive further down via Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale towards Miami, these impressions will stay in your memory for a long time.
