FRANKFURT (07.08.2024) - Talk about gas extensively, meet old friends, make new ones and enjoy strong music and a hot coffee - Open House at Harley-Davidson is much more than just an open day. It's that time again in the ninth month of the year and motorcycle fans will be in awe once again when the Harley-Davidson dealers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland open their doors wide to their guests. An ideal time to discover the latest HD bikes, casual clothing and cool accessories.

At the end of the summer, the Harley-Davidson motorcycles of 2024 can be admired and – weather permitting – tested extensively. These include the Street Glide and Road Glide models, which, in addition to the high-displacement Milwaukee-Eight 117, also have everything else that is new: the stable chassis, the powerful design and of course the well-thought-out infotainment system.

Compared to the previous Grand American Touring models, they offer more advanced technologies, greater driving comfort and even more dynamic performance. In addition to the new machines, a huge range of parts and accessories are available from dealers, allowing customers to create the motorcycle of their very own dreams.

Numerous HD original parts especially for the Street Glide and Road Glide , with which the bikes can be perfectly individualized. And because the season is far from over in September, the dealers also offer lots of fashion and motor clothing products. These include the Willie G. Collection, the HD Flex Layering System jackets and the seasonal clothing, which is available in limited editions.

The Rick's Day's in October are already legendary and a top event in the Harley-Davidson calendar. Now, on the occasion of the 120th brand anniversary, the Rick's team is starting an exciting motorcycle season at the end of April with a spring edition of Rick's Days! Between the Black Forest Hochstraße trip and the Alsace tour, a visit to Rick's Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson Baden-Baden is practically a must on the last weekend in April!

As with the traditional Rick's Days, the team opens the workshops for a look "behind the scenes" of the custom bike manufacturer and the SKS Harley-Davidson US show truck invites you to test drive the entire model range. Particularly interesting: there will be an off-road course for interested “Pan America” drivers and testers! Fashion show with the 120th Fashion Collection and the Jeep presentation by Friedmann's Autowelt complement the event from Friday to Sunday.

The motorcycle stuntman from Budapest is the official stuntman and stunt show coordinator of the upcoming 120th brand birthday in Hungary - and is showing some of the extreme stunt acrobatics in advance at Rick's Day! This brings a spectacular 120th Anniversary program item directly “to the doorstep” of Harley-Davidson Baden-Baden.

What’s actually going on at Harley-Davidson in the East in 2023?

A lot, because there is always a good party, especially in Saxony in the three HD stores of Thomas Heavy Metal Bikes (Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz).

It starts in Saxony's largest city, Leipzig. The season starts on April 15th. with a proper “season opening”, as Harley-Davidson calls it from this year.

In the north of Leipzig, just 5 minutes from the A14, you will find everything your Harley heart desires on over 1,800 square meters. The almost legendary spring open house in Leipzig is accompanied by live music, test drive opportunities and plenty of food and drinks.

The HD team welcomes you from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dortmunder Straße. Bikers are allowed to enter the area as long as there is enough space; arriving early ensures good spots. This will definitely be a pretty big party, because the team in Leipzig is, as always, putting in a lot of effort to put together a cool event for you.

April 22nd, 2023 Season Opening Harley-Davidson Chemnitz

It continues on April 22nd. in Chemnitz. Last year, some of you were there for the great re-opening after the move from the mini-store on Zwickauer Straße to the new, huge store on Reichsstraße. An incredibly beautiful object, please look at the pictures again. The Harley store is located in a historic train station from 1858, in the middle of the city.

At the same time as the season opening, the team is celebrating 10 years of company anniversary, as the Chemnitz store was opened in the old building in 2013. At the season opening there are test drive opportunities, live music, delicious beer from the Munzer brewery, which is located in the basement of the Harley store, and plenty of new Harley stuff in the store. The team welcomes you in Chemnitz from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Last, but not least, the Saxony headquarters, Harley-Davidson Dresden.

This is where things really get down to business. Not only that the season will finally officially start in Dresden on May 6th. There's a big celebration for HD Dresden's 15th anniversary. In 2008, Sibylle Thomas-Göbelbecker and her team opened the store in a listed building that was part of a pharmaceutical factory for many decades.

The big celebration is going on with lots of live music, food & drinks, bikes, test rides, the latest clothes and the whole team from HD Dresden, so everything is there. A visit to the outskirts of Dresden, not far from the Karl May Museum, is definitely worth it and Dresden as a city anyway. Some people already know Dresden from the Harley Days, which will also take place in July this year from July 21st to 23rd.

Pro tip: Saxony offers many brilliant motorcycle routes, which are worth a visit even if there are no parties. But some of you will probably pass through here on the way to Budapest.

Review – Bike & Breakfast at Rick's Motorcycles!

That was once again a really nice Harley weekend, over 500 of you just showed up for the biker breakfast at Rick's Motorcycles, and there must have been a lot of scrambled eggs, from what you hear. At over 23 degrees the weather gods played really well, that wasn't the case everywhere in the country.

It's about time that when the weather is good we can meet again for small meetings without masks and all the other games.

When you're in a good mood, you can finally look at a few Harleys again, that's something!

The largest Harley-Davidson store in East Germany opens in Chemnitz

Harley-Davidson Chemnitz – The time has come. On Saturday (May 21st), East Germany's largest Harley-Davidson store opens in the former Chemnitz-Mitte train station with a big biker festival.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be live music and colorful market activity on the station forecourt at Reichsstrasse 1, a DJ and of course everything that makes a Harley fan's heart beat faster in the old station building, which has been converted with a view to preserving historical monuments. Motorcycle fans and interested citizens are warmly invited. Harley-Davidson Europe boss Kolja Rebstock also expected in Chemnitz.

With the opening, a terrible eyesore in Chemnitz will disappear. Thomas-Göbelbecker spent two years carefully renovating and modernizing the old train station site. For 15 years it had previously been idle and left to decay. Around 2.5 million euros were invested in the building, which was put into operation in 1858 as the Nicolai train station. The name now also adorns the front of the building, as do two tower clocks that were recreated based on historical models.

Now the Nicolai train station will be home to the largest East German Harley-Davidson store and probably one of the most beautiful and original in all of Europe. On 2,000 square meters, where tickets were once sold and billiards was occasionally played, the latest machines are presented and tailored to customer requirements, accessories and fashion are sold and a lot of the typical Harley lifestyle is presented.

Seeing all this in the still authentic station ambience is exciting. 12 employees take care of everything and give the Chemnitz Harley-Davidson Store , which has been rented on Zwickauer Straße since 2013 and is now moving to an area three times as large, a new home. Master brewer Nico Munzer has set up shop in the basement with his brewery and bar and offers his locally brewed beer specialties.

Grand Opening Harley-Davidson Chemnitz 2022

Harley-Davidson Chemnitz will open its new store next Saturday, May 21st, 2022 in the former Bahnhof-Mitte in Chemnitz. And of course it's about ensuring that you get the full program here in the future to get your Harley fever under control.

Harley-Davidson's online test drive booking system is also completely new. You can reserve your dream bike from home now, or see when it can still be booked.

In the following photo you can see which machines are available for test drives in Chemnitz. These Harleys are also on site and expand Harley-Davidson Chemnitz's own test drive fleet, which is not listed. The test drives start on the hour from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Low Rider ST 117 is at the start in Chemnitz!

Anyone who has paid close attention will immediately see that one of the new and sought-after Low Rider ST 117 models will be there in Chemnitz. The Low Rider ST will almost certainly be one of the very popular test drive models, and the new Sportster Nightster will also be there. You're welcome to take a look at the Nightster, then you'll know where the new Sportster generation is headed and whether it might appeal to you in the future.

WHAT WHEN WHERE!

The new store is located at Reichsstraße 1 in Chemnitz and offers plenty of parking space for Harley riders. The opening party will take place on May 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What's on offer for you on Saturday!

On Saturday you'll be offered live music from BoBerry, as well as delicious food and drink, with KessTech, The Jekill and Hyde Company, Munzer Braumanufaktur, Parts of Europe and much more taking part. And it's finally an opportunity to follow other bikers and bikes to meet again during this long break.

And of course I'll be reporting from there and taking some photos of the whole party and the bikes, so I hope I can capture some of your Harleys.

The story about Harley-Davidson Chemnitz

Harley-Davidson Chemnitz has been around since 2013, previously in an old industrial loft on Zwickauer Straße. The operator was and is the company Thomas Heavy Metal Bikes , which was founded in Radebeul near Dresden in 2008 with the opening of its first location.

In autumn 2020 it was decided that Harley-Davidson Chemnitz should be expanded. This was only possible through a new location. And Sibylle Thomas (the managing director) and her husband bought the dilapidated but very historic Bahnhof-Mitte in Chemnitz (also known as Nicolai-Bahnhof in Chemnitz) from a group of investors who had little interest in renovating it.

The train station, built in 1853, was a visual eyesore for over 10 years, close to Chemnitz city center. On May 21, 2022, Harley-Davidson Chemnitz will open in this historic train station, as the largest Harley-Davidson store in the east with over 2,000 square meters of retail space. The fact is that this renovated building will be considered one of the most beautiful Harley-Davidson stores in Germany .

The new store is located at Reichsstraße 1 in Chemnitz and offers plenty of parking space for Harley riders. The opening takes place on May 21st. from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. And then the store is open on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week.

This coming May weekend, some Harley dealers will be offering you something again. Most of the action will probably take place in Chemnitz, where the new Harley-Davidson store will open in the converted former train station building. Will take a look there too, it's definitely worth it.

In addition, Rick's is hosting the Bike and Breakfast again and some other dealers will also be firing up the grill next weekend.
