HARLEY-DAVIDSON FASHION SYLT & INFORMATION ABOUT THE SYLT SUMMERTIME PARTY 2021
At the beginning of autumn I went again to the island of Sylt to Harley-Davidson Fashion Store to find out how people on the island are coping in times of the pandemic. And of course the interview with Michael is also about the Summertime Party 2021 on the island of Sylt.

I drove the 2020 model year Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited via Kiel to Denmark to take the Sylt ferry to the island of Sylt. In the early morning there was still fog over the meadows, which promised to be a beautiful day.
Entry into Denmark went without any problems. As expected, there were no controls at the German-Danish border. I drove straight through to the ferry in the port of Havneby .
Recommended: A stopover at the Römö car beach
The drive over the dam to the island of Römö, through the Wadden Sea, is really very beautiful. If you have the time in advance, you should make a detour to the car beach, where you are allowed to ride a motorbike on the beach. Some people can't believe it, but it's really allowed, like on Daytona Beach in the USA. But be careful, if you can't see the sea directly, believe me, it will come back. You are well advised not to go too far out.
Round trip to the island of Sylt
The one-way crossing with the Sylt ferry costs €29.80 for motorcyclists and €51 for a return trip as of September 2020 ( ext. link to the current price list ). However, this time I would like to split it up and try to get back to the mainland to Niebüll with the Sylt Shuttle.
The prices are about the same, but you have to pay attention that so far only the Deutsche Bahn, which takes motorcycles DB Sylt Shuttle price list ). The private shuttle provider currently does not offer motorcycle transport with a driver.
I had already booked and reserved the ferry online in advance. I spontaneously went to the Sylt Shuttle, both with and without a reservation, but it depends on the season and whether there is enough space on the trains. There are usually no problems with individual motorcycles.
A reservation is still welcome, especially on the train, space can be limited because the driver sits in the sprinter with the train conductor during the crossing.
The best thing to do is spend a few nice, relaxing days on the island.

The nice thing about the island of Sylt is that there is a Harley-Davidson Fashion Store that operates its business in a top location with an extensive range in the middle of beautiful Westerland. First, drink a coffee or cappuccino on the dike, right by the sea, and take a deep breath, or stroll a little through the well-known Friedrichstrasse. The Harley-Davidson Fashion Store is just around the corner on Elisabethstraße and cannot be missed.
After the interview, I drove to the south side of Sylt, to Hörnum. Just before the harbor there is a cozy coffee shop on the right with delicious cakes. There are plenty of coffees on the island, on the north side of Sylt in List, as well as somewhere in the middle of the island's action.
A train ride is fun, a train ride is nice... The Sylt Shuttle experience
At 4:30 p.m. I arrived at the Deutsche Bahn Sylt Shuttle. I didn't have a reservation, but there were already a few cars in line and the shuttle was full at the end. Considering I drove on a normal Tuesday, I was a bit surprised. But that wasn't a problem and the motorbike takes you right to the front, where the coaches are usually parked.
I was amazed when I discovered the waiting shelter for motorcyclists. You have to know that the weather on the islands is not always so sunny, it can change and become a bit rough.
Well, I had already feared it, after 2 hours I was still standing in front of the barge and nothing happened. There was a problem with the switch on the route, but it's not the railway's fault, the Regio-Netz has to sort it out on this railway line.
Two fully occupied tour buses with senior citizens pulled up next to me. It's clear that if you stand there with your Harley, it doesn't take long until you have your first conversations with the old people who talk about their experiences from their youth with the Java and other old mopeds.
Meanwhile, the ladies let their bus driver provide them with Piccolo and they were getting funnier and funnier. Afterwards it got to the point where they wanted to bag me for one of the nieces. But I'm well taken care of, so nothing came of it. The railway employees came by regularly to tell us that it was still taking time, but there was no specific time, let alone any further information.
The only thing that was clear was that it would start at some point. The whole thing, told with a coastal accent and some everyday experiences about what you can experience with train travelers on this route, kept us all in a good mood in the end. The situation there is generally not easy, but I have to praise the railway employees , the train driver and his colleagues always tried very hard to inform us, it couldn't have been better. At 7:30 p.m. we finally started, at least we were on our way to the mainland at some point.
I sat in the sprinter with the train driver and had a view of the sunset during the leisurely train ride. There really are worse things, the trip was very entertaining and at least I didn't have to expect any rain on my way home. After a few more stops, the shuttle arrived in Niebüll at 8:55 p.m. after a total of 4.5 entertaining hours.
And now I suddenly noticed that it can be quite cold on the North Sea at the end of September. Cold and fog spread, luckily I'm on the road with the Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited 2020 . The two fog lamps and the LED Daymaker come into action straight away, the standard heated grips glow and I am well protected from the cold wind behind the window, and off we go. I still have 170 kilometers to go until I'm home.
You can definitely do Sylt as a day tour, from Hamburg it's easy to do. If you set yourself an approximate time window, this tour is ideal for clearing your mind of everyday stress.
In the end it was a wonderful day, it didn't really work with the Sylt Shuttle, but how boring life would be if everything always went so perfectly and how could it be otherwise, the seniors on the bus showed me how! Always make the best of the situation and never let it spoil your good mood.
