Three-wheeling‘
Harley-Davidson Frankfurt, Hanover, Wiesbaden, and Wetzlar offer Harley sidecars.
• High-quality sidecar conversions for almost all Harley models
• Classic look and modern technology
The history of Harley-Davidson motorcycle sidecars began a good 100 years ago. Extremely popular in the early years of motorization, sidecars were used to transport loved ones and for commercial or military purposes. But after sidecars were increasingly replaced by four-wheeled alternatives in the 1950s and 1960s, they have now disappeared from the streets, with a few exceptions. Completely unjustified, according to Thomas Trapp from the authorized Harley-Factory dealer in Frankfurt, because a sidecar offers a fascinating riding experience – incomparable to a solo machine and certainly not to a convertible. „Once you've caught the bug for this special kind of biking, you'll never want to give up riding a sidecar,“ says Trapp.
That's why Hesse and his Frankfurt team are now offering Harleys with sidecars again. The sidecar comes from specialist Champion Sidecars, one of the leading US manufacturers, and adds a stylish third wheel to almost any Milwaukee Iron. The sidecar frame of the TÜV-approved and ready-to-ride motorcycle combination is topped by a boat whose timeless design perfectly matches the Harley look. And if you want to enjoy riding on two wheels, the sidecar and its frame can be detached from the motorcycle in no time at all with just a few simple steps.
As classic as the Champion sidecar looks, its technology is just as modern. It has a sturdy windshield and a rainproof cover, its wheel is slowed by a disc brake, an adjustable suspension strut ensures comfort, and the connections are simply screwed on—no modifications to the motorcycle are necessary. Whether you're carrying the best passenger ever, a brave pet, large vacation luggage, or a crate of beer for a barbecue evening, it doesn't matter: there's always enough space. The 86 kg sidecar package for Sportster, Dyna, Softail, and Touring models is available with a uni paint job for €13,900 – not only at Harley-Factory Frankfurt, but also at Harley-Davidson Hannover, Harley-Davidson Wiesbaden, and Bernie's Harley-Davidson Mittelhessen.
