Harley-Davidson Hamburg-Nord is celebrating its first 20 years
Big anniversary party on January 19th
( Hamburg , January 10, 2019) The year is 1999 - the Federal Republic of Germany turns 50, Hugh Grant turns on Julia Roberts in "Notting Hill", Wladimir Klitschko punches Axel Schulz into the ground, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" goes on air and Lou Bega intones “Mambo No. 5”. It is the year in which Axel Kunth-Joost and Roger Gierz founded Harley-Davidson Hamburg-Nord.
The two motorcycle enthusiasts, who had been working professionally with the machines from Milwaukee , USA years before, stirred up a lot of dust right from the start, business was flourishing and the Hamburg-based company was winning coveted industry awards such as the “Dealer of the Year” award. With Harley-Davidson Hamburg-Süd, they are opening another store in 2015 and in the future they will even be offering Harley-Davidson city tours with local greats Eddy Kante, Tanja Schumann, Kalle Haverland and Hamburg - under the motto “Rock 'n' Roll City Tours”. North employee Martina Heitzig offers. “The basis of our success? “It was always our highly motivated and committed team,” explains Managing Director Roger Gierz. Nothing has changed to this day, except that this team now includes 30 employees.
Of course, a big anniversary has to be celebrated - with a big birthday party under the motto “Biker, Burger, Beer & Band” on January 19th from 10 a.m. The celebration will take place in the 3,250 m 2 company building at Ivo-Hauptmann-Ring 4 in Hamburg-Farmsen, which the Hanseatic people moved into in 2018. Here visitors can expect the new Harley models of 2019, the fashion collections for spring, lots of accessories for the machines from Milwaukee, various exhibitors on the subject of Harley-Davidson and of course custom bikes - individualized motorcycles that make you dream and talk shop invites. The varied talk sessions with interesting guests on stage promise entertainment. A large drinks stand and a burger stand will be responsible for combating dry throats and growling stomachs. And from 8 p.m., the band Rockhouse, which was at the opening in 1999, will provide the musical accompaniment with songs from AC/DC to ZZ Top.
The highlight: Anyone who drives up in the appropriate classic biker clothing on a US motorcycle that is at least 20 years old or at least appears in a retro outfit from 1999 will be in for a little culinary surprise.
