The „120 Years of Harley-Davidson“ exhibition at the Museum Central Garage ended in January 2024
(Frankfurt, 22.01.2023) On April 23 2023 was opened in Bad Homburg, 272 days later it came to an end: the largest Harley-Davidson History Exhibition that has ever taken place in Europe. The idea came from Dieter, Philipp and Moritz Dressel, classic car fans and initiators of the Central Garage car museum, as well as Thomas Trapp and Matthias Meier, owners of the Frankfurt Harley Factory.
On an area of around 700 square meters, more than 60 historic vehicles were exhibited thanks to our own extensive collection of historic vehicles and the commitment of numerous other classic car fans. motorcycles as well as many other exhibits from the Motor Company's long history. From the 1910/11 Silent Gray Fellow with its original single cylinder to the modern Pan America 1250 Special with liquid-cooled V2, all Milwaukee Irons of distinction were represented. In addition, there were numerous information boards on the history of the brand, pop culture and the people who shaped Harley-Davidson.

The curators' concept was a success and the exhibition organizers are more than satisfied with the response. Thousands Harley and classic car fans made it a point to visit the Central Garage. As admission was free, visitors were asked to make a donation. This raised an impressive 7,500 euros, which Dieter Dressel and Thomas Trapp to Frank Fechner, Managing Director of MainLichtblick e.V.. The aim of this association is to make sick, traumatized or physically impaired children happy.
Dieter Dressel comments: „We were surprised at how much recognition and appreciation our exhibition received from the media, Harley fans and the classic motorcycle scene, and we are proud to be able to help unfortunate children find more energy and fun in life with the donation.“ „We are delighted with the great response to ‚120 Years of Harley-Davidson’,“ adds Thomas Trapp, „and we would like to thank all the visitors, the classic car fans who provided us with historic bikes and all the helping hands who made this exhibition possible.“
